Hey Afriman, Good Friday/Happy Easter to you. Glad you're dedicated to even be logged in on a holiday. :D

Quick question, the East IPC upgrade? Any ETA updates or anything happening? We must know!

Sounds like we're getting there :)

Please keep me posted. Got all our management and technical eyes on, so we can iron out all the kinks for the long weekend :)

Do you have info ito how busy the South is compared too normal Workday or holiday or Weekend traffic?

Hey RoMark,

Seeing that you are in an unshaped state at the moment, can you post all three MyBB speedtest results?

I just want to see if the contention has improved ;)

EDIT: Sorry, didn't see your latest.

The East upgrade happened last night as well, as I suspected - so we should be seeing improved performance there. So far, network is purring like a kitten :)

Just checked ClientZone, no shaping! Started a torrent (legally ;)) this morning at 8AM. No shaping!

Was this a full upgrade on East IPC or just a partial one like the South? If partial, then I'm assuming it would get even better?

Now let's see what happens on Tuesday, first day back at work. How much shaping will happen? Hopefully little!

Unshaped here on the east.... line is running at full speed :)

Well done Afrihost!

These comments are encouraging :)

BUT

We will only know for sure when the holiday is over, as it's common knowledge that networks normally perform quite well during these periods.

Supersport rugby streaming flawlessly, apart from the awefull quality.
Who do I need to thank?
SS or AH?
:D

Yip, standard uncapped. "25% Download/ 6.5% P2P". I'm not saying I'm surprised, just very disappointed (a feeling I've become unfortunately rather used to over the last while).

Yea, that's unfortunate :(

If you turbocharge - how does it perform? Also, how does it perform on the free capped account?

I do see Telkom has listed some outages for the CPT area - might be causing some confusion:

TableView, Stikland, Wynberg, Milnerton, Waverly Business Park, Ladismith, Montague - could be more according to another ISP's notice board.

Some areas in KZN also down:

Riverhorse Valley, Alton, Gateway, Southgate

Just in case people in those areas are wondering if the upgrades haven't taken properly.
