I just had to share this, got an email with an invite to an Afrihost\Nostalgic party with a 90's theme. Email read " since our speeds from Afrihost are like they were in the nineties, we decide to party like way back in 1990. Couples than can produce a 14,400 modem or slower wins a prize and no, it is not an unwanted Afrihost account " Priceless !!!

Does a router with afrihost account details loaded count? I think that is slower than a 14,,400 modem (had no connectivity yesterday)

The Seacom issues aside, how has Afrihost uncapped been of late? Is the 384 account worthwhile if I just do a lot of browsing? Or are there still a lot of problems?

Before SMW4 went down it was really good. Even when I moved past 35GBs and was throttled - browsing etc worked very well.

If you 'do a lot of browsing' does it entail more than ~7-10GB of traffic?

They have also increased the second limit (where throttling starts) to 40GB for next month.

I'm on the 384 uncapped. Everything has been great for me. Up to 37gigs for the month. It's not super fast, but it's def good enough.

I was a little luckier... I only got throttled after 75GIGs... I was hit HARD though, like 5kb/s...

Switched to MWEB now in May, Afrihost is a joke, so lets see how it goes. :)

Last month I had full speed the whole month on my 4mb, I think I got about 115gig .... I have noticed some discrepancies in speed this month, been up and down, but could be because of the Neotel / Seacom issues we have been having...
