Ok fixed 4 rs links in idm all running at 90kb/s so im assuming we back to normal how are the rest of you guys doing? some positive news for my 300th post

Not to sure if it's just the torrents though... could be because as i type this it's rising to 30-40kb.

I'm getting 150-200kb/s on my http downloads at the moment, so looks like it's back to normal and yes my total downloads for the month is sitting on 114 GB so that's about the correct speed I'm supposed to get after getting throttled

This is crap as soon as its fixed my rs account says its run out. so AH says ive used total 14.9gb in 5 days rs allocates 5gb of traffic every day and they reckon i have used it all bs...

Yep, I am also down. Switched to my Axxess account and that works fine. Afrihost was working earlier today, but not now it seems.

So Afrihost is going to meet with IS on the Shaping / Throttling issues. Seems that there are some 4mb users who had 300gig+ projected data usage for the month by the 11th. My projected usage would have been about 220gig. So the new throttling system will continuously adjust your speeds according to your usage and projected totals. So who ever says bull on this, I believe its true. Thats why my speeds are rubbish. The Throttling system seems to be misbehaving, and not following the FUP properly. So even if they manually reset your Speed to say 1mbps (like they did with me twice), it will automatically kick the extreme throttling back on within an hour....
BTW, if you use large amount of bandwidth "Its like stealing" cause the provider cant make a profit from you ?!?! LoL ... Nice wording there from the support... So we waits and crawls at a measly 100 - 300kbps until the "Congestion" is sorted.... Only thing is, logic tells me, that if by the 11th of the month we are throttled to such extremes, they utilized the available bandwidth provisioned for the uncapped clients... Thus leaving us in limbo for the rest of the month? or purchasing more at a loss?

Only stayed with Afrihost because I was getting consistently good speeds.It doesn't look like they can sustain 4meg uncapped in the short term.
It was good while it lasted and have otherwise been very happy with Afrihost but time to move on - Thks Afrihost.
Will be using M-WEB from next month.

I am cancelling all my AH accounts starting tommorow.
These people can't even give me and ETA on a resolution.
I also asked - "If there is a problem why don't you put it on the alerts pages, isn't that what its for?"
"He said yea I don't know.".
I was a big AH fan been with them for hosting and web access 1 year + for myself and about 11 others - no more.
