AM2 Nforce 6100 m/board cannot see 4gig ram

Hi Guys

Can anyone help me. My motherboard supports up to 4gig of ram. I have 4 slots on my board.2x Kinston and 2x Transcend and they all ddr2 88mhz. When i put all of them in and power up my machine the screen is blank and nothing happens. If i take 1 out the machine bootup and showing 3gig in 64bit. I know that running them pairs it will be 128bit, means means my pc will be running faster. Can anyone tell me if my board does support 4gig and does it also support only certain memory ot could it be a power problem.

Your MB supports 4GB. Does not support Registered DIMM or ECC DIMM but you dont have these so don't worry.

For dual channel you have to match similair dimms, closes to the CPU try:
Kingston
Kingston
Transcend
Transcend

Or try swapping the two pairs around. Make sure the DIMMS are properly seated.

Check your BIOS settings but I doubt there will be anything in there.
 
I have tried what you have said about changing them around.

Whichever way i put it in the screen stays black and nothing comes up.
It only boots up when i take i stick out.

I also tried it with 2x 512mb ddr2 that i have. Does the same thing. when i remove 1x 512md ddr2 it boots up.

this is really weird.

any guru's out there that can fix my problem.

You may have to enable a setting in your BIOS so your board sees more than 2GB (up to 4GB) - on Gigabyte boards you have to press CTRL + F1 to see this "hidden" advanced settings menu, but not sure about your board.
 
Does this only do it with a specific dimm socket or all of them if you swap memory around?
 
it does the same whichever dimm i swop around. there is nothing wrong with any of the dimms. i have put them in as a pair and they pickup fine and is working 100%
 
Have you got the latest bios version? might help, grabbing at straws here.
 
Be very careful if you want to flash the BIOS. I bought 2 of these MoBo's (for my kids) and fried 1 when flashing the BIOS (following the correct process). Took both back to supplier and they replaced it with no fuss! Am only running 2Gb RAM on each so have not had your problem (yet)!
