ANC conference, Polokwane

the general consensus (from leaders the world over) Azania, is that we do have in fact a democracy post-94... We (i'm assuming here) might not like the way things turned out and what the future holds for the minority but the people have spoken post-94 and is a clear indication of the population in this country

I agree with you that politics in SA are not about policy, leadership or skill. i'm one of those that believe the time has come for South africans to take the issue of voting seriously. There are policies that i dont agree with in the current goverment e.g right of children at 12yrs to do abortion without parents consent. However history will always favour parties that participated in the liberation struggle to be the peoples favourite as they have and talk same language with the ordinary man on the street. The message might not be clear but the is a common language of revolution that will not be cleared from peoples minds. With time i believe we will reach that stage, i have started.

One party to rule them all. That's what the ANC is at the moment.

The ANC is not every black person's friend at the moment. Unfortunately most of the ANC's members are too uninformed to know any better.

CORRECT!!! And this is why we call it a democracy.
Even if A MILLION blacks are not the ANC's friend it is still a democracy.
 
for me the problem is not the ANC but the lack of a viable alternative. what SA needs is a charismatic figure in the mould of the former Nelson Mandela to enter the political arena and provide the nation with a viable alternative. question is who?!!!
