How did we "just" get LTE? Vodacom has had it available in major cities since 2012, also it was available in SA commercially before the UK.

The coverage is expanding like a wild fire too. So much so that the MTN and Vodacom coverage maps can't keep up. I mean I have very good LTE on vodacom and MTN in areas where the map does not even show 3G coverage. Just saying

Just add to that that current '4G' is just a marketting slang, not initially defined.
Indeed, unfortunately a local network disingenuously tried to market it's UMTS network (not even LTE!) as 4G setting the trend for leant local publications (MyBB excluded) to talk about '4G'.

LTE itself, is part of the 3G specification.

PLEASE fix your data prices first! 3G, 4G, 5G, 10G . . . it is all irrelevant - at current data prices. CellC put themselves on the map while Vodaskum are busy taking themselves off. I wished someone higher up at Vodaskum, will bother reading all this negative comments. Mind you, Nokia had pretty much the same attitude towards their customers and a few years later guess what . . .
