Android 9 does not support call recording

I have call recorders working properly, but, it does not list the numbers, it just lists them as Unknown.
So at least now we have good sound from both sides, all we need now is to get the caller ID right.

I would appreciate any feedback if there is a solution that saves to your email or to your Dropbox, that also identifies it from your contacts or from caller ID.

This is a new 'feature' of ACR. They did it on request of Google. You can't fight Google FoolPlay Services. Hopefully Huawei will bring a new OS soon.

Posting again as it seems to be a temporary solution for unknown numbers issue. If you have a Huawei phone and using ACR, uninstall the current app then go to the Huawei App Galery and download ACR app from there. It will be the 'unchained' version from the same developer.

NLL had to remove this feature on the request of a bully to prevent being banned, but Google have no jurysdiction on the Huawei App Store. Do not install the app from a backup or apk mirrors, it will not install properly.

Xiaomi. As I said earlier, my Mi Max 3 is on Pie and built in call recording in Miui is still working perfectly

Yes got my first Pie-based Xiaomi today and call recording works

Yes, but to what extent? Does it show Caller ID's? Mine also works fabulous, except for that.

From what I heard Xiaomi has native call recording enabled. Calls are recorded both ways, perfectly clear and saved with caller identity. I heard some recordings and it was better than most apps that worked on the Note 9 before Android 9.

I tried a number of apps on the Note 9. None of them works.

I am not a techy and I am new to the conversation, so bare with me. I am keen on finding an Automatic Call Recorder that does the recording thing well( like CallX and "Call Recorder License by NNL" on Google Play) and saves to storage place with Caller ID (None for now) Searchable as I do a lot of calls.

So now I am trying to find out if there is a phone that has native call-recording, with Caller ID saved.

I came across search results for Jolla's SailfishOS. Seems it is software you can replace your existing software with from what I gather. (But I don't know what phones it would work on and how..)

My call recordings are named after the contact name and/or number and the time
There are options to automatically record all calls or a list of numbers or by pressing a button

There is also an unchained ACR available on the Samsung Store. It works with my existing license on the play store and seems to be doing a pretty decent job with recording on my s10+ .

I can confirm that we have tested all call recording apps in the Galaxy Store on the Note 9. Not a single one works. Android has removed the ability of actual real call recording. This means that all calls can still be recorded via the earpiece or speaker, but there are quality issues if you are not in a quiet place when recording the call. In fact, on the Note 9, this cannot be seen as call recording at all.

Thanks for the tip! When reinstalled from the App Gallery, ACR kept my Pro license as well as my saved recordings.

Please confirm if the Huawei ACR Unchained Solution has CallerID On?

My current status with this problem is that we have very clear and nice recording (both sides, nicely stored to storage or cloud, all automatically) as per the good old days from Recorders such as CallX and ACR License ("Call Recorder License by NNL") (see 5 posts back), but we still don't have caller id. Which means we can't search a specific call other than by time-stamp.
Because we do a lot of calls, that is quite important.
So any news on progress with this status would be welcomed.
Currently, we are looking to explore Native Call Recording Applications such as Harbour on https://github.com/dpurgin/harbour-callrecorder/wiki.
I would welcome any comments relating to the best Sailfish Devices:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sailfish_OS
Keep in mind I am not technically inclined, I am a nincompoop with these things, I don't know what you are talking about when you mention "Rooting", sounds like you wipe the phone completely and install another vendor's software on the phone.
So I don't know if any phones come with Sailfish OS, or if it is an option to load it on some choices of phones?

@Dirk101. Uninstall the current app (and other similar apps) before installing the latest unchained version from Huawei/Samsung store. It is important. Your calls are not gone, but backup to be sure. It seems to be a key for success. Caller ID is not a problem with the unchained version, I confirm.

Which Call Recorder App are you doing this with?
