Android beats Apple, every time

+1

Don't forget if you actually want to just download a FREE app from the itunes store you need to make an account with apple (in registration) and also put in all your credit card details etc... :(

A nokia 1100 just works too. Unfortunately it can't actually do anything.

Apple definitely won the mp3 player game but I suspect the pad game is going to be rather different. A bit more like the PC game. You will always get the apple fanboys with their pretty, overpriced toys for posing at larney coffee shops and you will get the people that want to actually *use* their device.
Well I managed to do it without a credit card. Was i just lucky or are you misinformed?

FTIW, I fully agree. Got my Desire HD in December. I have a couple of friends with iPhone 3 and they say they won't be upgrading to an iPhone 4, they're going to get an Android.

If we compare tech, features and market its obvious Android rules. I hate to admit it, but Apple prdoucts do have that silly status stigma attached to it....and we love to hate it :D

I got the Samsung Galaxy S. Similar experience. People are sceptical about Android until I start whizzing around and playing with all the apps.

The Galaxy S is awesome. Only thing that sucks about Android - updates! The Galaxy S never even got 2.2 let alone 2.3. What about 3.0? I doubt it will get that. With the iPhone you always have the latest update.

No Reading app that comes to the quality of iBooks.

No Smooth Rotating Effect when flipping the Tablet 90 degrees...just a pause and then suddenly a rotated view - yuck!

almost R8000 for a galaxy tablet? lol....no thanx.

Apple's Apps just have better quality, we all know that.

Well Said!!

99% of that article was about how bad Apple is. Clearly a one sided opinion!!
Nope - I'm on the same side, now its two sided.
Android would exist, it would look more like blackberry and not so iPhone like.
Never insult android like that - ever. I have taken quite an interest in BlackBerry and therefore have done a lot of research on it... and it is shocking. It is arguable the crappest and must dull looking vendor inbred cheapskate platform in the world.
I always prefer arguments based upon fact.
Fact - iPhone has inferior specs when compared to the likes of highend Android phones and N-Series phones.
Fact - iPhone is locked down like crazy.
Fact - Andriod runs on many vendors hardware - even a Nokia N900 if you like.
Fact - apple has zombie like fanboys.
Why I use an iPhone:

it. just. works.

G'night girls...
That's cause your standards for work are too low.

Yay! I'm a zombie! I haven't quite developed a taste for human flesh but I'm sure it'll come.

It's a shame to see the poor quality of the article being matched by the poor quality forum posts. Has MyBB really fallen that far behind?

Too many iPhone users on here lately... :(

Apple Boys, Nokia Boys and Android Boys! FFS use whatever you want to use, in the end no body actually cares except you!

Well done MyBB. I think I am going to go read "YOU" or "Huis G" because they have better written article published than this.

When my phone contract came up for renewal recently, I was basically faced with two options: iPhone 4 or HTC Desire. I eventually picked the HTC Desire because I already had an iPod Touch and already benefitted from most of the apps on the app store. Since having some experience with both platforms now (and my wife has the iPhone 3G), I've come to the conclusion that this cartoon has some merit:

Anyway, I've found the HTC Desire awesome, but in some ways all the freedom and customisability gets to be a bit cumbersome. After you've toggled just about every setting on the phone, and believe me, there are more settings than you know what to do with - it's a techie's wet-dream device, it's sometimes nice to have something that's pretty much been set up the way you're going to use it from the box, like the iPhone.

To each his own :)

This is what Android looked like in 2007. Here is an actual Android hardware prototype from 2007. Compare that to the iPhone of 2007. Now look at the Android phones of today. Exactly. Android simply switched from being a Nokia E61/ Blackberry ripoff to being an iPhone ripoff.

As for the hardware specs, show me a phone with a screen that's better than the iPhone 4. How about one that's thinner? Or with better battery life? The camera is also probably the 2nd best, next to the N8.

The only thing worth bringing to an Android-iPhone bun-fight is pop-corn. It's like watching a school-yard brawl...

Hahaha- don't forget the Wifi's and the bigger GB's... You can't make this stuff up.

@Juice: You're missing the point. You don't have to customise or set anything, you can use an Android device just like it's set-up out of the box, without ever tweaking anything. It's just that you can change anything if you want to do it.

Well personally I think the marketplace is vastly inferior to the App Store. There's just no comparing the App selection.

No, I think that is exactly the point. If you want to be able to customise everything, get Android. If not, get an iPhone.
