Android smartphones will offer 5G before Apple

Now one aspect I think Apple wins hands down is their marketing.

They have fantastic marketing to make you feel you're buying a premium, high end device and by default, you're better than everyone else. You're rich and elite.
Your comment shows they've hit the nail on the head and you really do have superiority complex with your phone! It's not a bad thing - I think you're a perfect example of the elitists that Apple are creating.

I was chatting to someone the other day and corrected him on a few features. His reply? 'I bought an iPhone CASH because I can afford to and you can't!' - It's brilliant marketing that works!

Good grief. And the many Androids I’ve had? You don’t think anyone can make an informed choice and have a different opinion or needs than you?

It’s laughable.

And I should have added. Don’t blame me for your inferiority complex. That’s all your own. Man, the only people that think this thing is premium or better than another brands are the ones that don’t own it.

It’s a phone. Only a phone. And I like the eco system and ease of use for me across platforms. Can’t it be as simple as that?

It could be as simple as the above - but your below comment hows what you really think and what you really feel. Your first thought is associate 'wealthy' with your phone before you mentioned ecosystem and cross platform, which only came after your elitist comment.

Then when called out, you're quickly trying to project that I have an inferiority complex and it's 'just' a phone.

think they are clever because they have a cheap Android.”?

I'm only using you as an example of what they're doing right with their marketing. There's plenty of you - no disrespect ... you just happened to be the first to mention money with phones - exactly what they want to portray.

Oh I see. I respond to the accusations about superiority, user haughtiness and Apple being over priced by talking in the same language, and I’m a victim of marketing????

Seriously. I’ve changed between Android and iPhone for years and now I’m on iPhone and I’m a victim of their marketing?

But tell me please seeing as you know me well, does my owning and using Androids more than iPhones in making my choices not count or is it still this marketing you speak of that influences me?

Why are you getting so defensive?

You're not the first to link 'Wealthy <> iPhone' and certainly won't be the last!
Likewise for linking 'Cheap <> Android' - it really doesn't bother anyone on here.

I'm was just pointing out and how you fit squarely into what they're trying to achieve *shrug*

But I think we've gone off topic now ?
We were discussing that the won't the 1st with 5G and you took offense to the statements they seldom have firsts?
Or what else upset you about the comments? Was it when I said it was 'average' and that went against what you believe?

I'm really unsure :/

Just remember that owning a slightly more expensive phone than someone else makes you a better person!

I've always found it bizarre, but there are people who feel that

I fit squarely by owning more Androids than iPhones? Gotcha.

Kinda makes you wonder about the rest of your presumptuous BS.

Just remember that owning a slightly more expensive phone than someone else makes you a better person!

Are there people that actually think like that? I mean seriously?

It’s a phone.

Nah ... squarely in the association of 'wealthy <> iPhone' - I think I've said this numerous times though?
Comprehension fail?

But like I said, it really is not an issue - I, for one, wasn't offended that you feel above me because your phone is more expensive. I think most of MyBB are mature enough to not get offended. And if it makes you feel elevated, who am I to judge?

Go out and enjoy :)

Most people don't buy iPhones because it shows you are wealthy. I actually bought mine to safe money. Most people buy their phones to just be phones that you can use google maps with, whatsapp and maybe a few other things.

On here people do care about the technology, but normal people just care about the experience. And the iPhone experience is still the best to many people. I still remember my S3 - NFC and wireless charging (way before the iPhone) - NFC I used once to transfer a picture (a gimmick back then) and I couldn't even get the wireless charger from Samsung in Vodaworld. When the iPhones got the wireless charging, the iStores were ready for it.

I think he took offense at the narrative being presented here: That most people that buy iPhones just buy it because it is expensive and are sheep for doing so. Everyone I know that bought iPhones buy it because it offered them the best experience.

Who said my phone is more expensive? You have a fancy Android no?

Ah - then I apologise.

You bought a nice phone, Spizz!

Maybe it's because the Galaxy s3 out of the box didn't have it.

Here's a proper reply :

Agree on the chip - it really fantastic. I'm sure you know Huawei design and manufacture their own chips too ?
How do you get the A11 being a year ahead? A cross platform Geekbrench ? You're aware a cross platform test isn't really ideal?
My Intel i5 has different results depending on the OS it's run on - whether Linux or Windows?
And you're aware that a Geekbench results aren't a real world representation of user experience ?

A12 mate A11 was launch last year

What exactly are you talking about here ? Do you have models?
I don't think that Apple have had a higher resolution screen than a high end Android in years?
And their current iPhone XR doesn't even the same PPI as a Samsung S4?

ALL of their devices have higher resolutions then majority android devices, excluding flagships, I have an LG K9, released this year with a snap dragon chipset that is only marginally faster then the mali 400MP with a screen res of 1280 x 720.Launch price was 2.9k, you can pick up the phone for 1.6k now. For a 2.9k budget, apple would have had a higher resolution still above all things.Do you know how many tablet still have 1024 x 600 resolution and at that 10 inch tablets.Say what you want apple always have better screens and screen resolutions.

Cutting edge is a word I'd never use to describe an iPhone. Premium, expensive, user friendly ... but cutting edge?
Maybe you don't really know what hardware in under the hood ?

As appose to what then mate, cutting edge isn't just hardware only, so one dimensional thinking and argument

So features they're often late (we'll put aside this 5G right now) were things like 3G, dual cameras, larger screens, 4K recording, NFC etc etc. I think if you want to look at what technology the next iPhone is going to have, maybe check out the current Android flagships? Great news for you is that tech technology trickles to the iPhone
Apple has always gone their own, so because it doesn't do EVERYTHING android immediately it's flawed and has stunted tech growth, some argument, why do they need to follow suit, they have always done their own thing and it never really bothered them, what shinny new feature samsung adds, which to be honest how many times do average people actually have use for those shinny new features, seldom, NFC had that on a S3.How many times did I have the pleasure of using it, not once, absolutely no reason or need for it. Does it make apple inferior because they couldn't be bothered adding tech that you most likely won't end up using any ways.

So what is your point really, you are implying because a product does some thing else then the mainstream,it must be flawed, or at least that is your reasoning.Do you know how much better the android market would be, if it was better regulated as to what you may put in devices as a min.The fongkong carp will dry up overnight.Android has it's own set of problem, lack of OS updates, lack of security updates. In most cases the support of most devices ends before it's even released. Samsung is still widely selling devices in some markets with android kitkat as the final OS. Manufactures might do one OS upgrade, and that is it, in most cases the hardware used is so old or cheap it's isn't even capable of running a new OS.Flagship devices could be counted on two hands from most major manufactures, what about the rest of the entire android segment that is dominated by low cost, cheap and inferior devices.

Apple releases 2 or 3 phones in a generation, and that is it, all with exactly the same build quality, same OS, with at least 2 to 3 OS upgrades. If you are lucky the manufacture might grace you with an update, if at all, they recently changed it so that manufactures is forced to provide updates now, where was this 5 years ago. ?

I might hate apple, but they are doing far more right then wrong.

Maybe it's because the Galaxy s3 out of the box didn't have it.

That was kind of my point, why put it in when you are not really going to give us the option to use it. Just to say you were one of the first to be capable of charging your phone wirelessly? If you put it in, you advertise that it can do it and when I want to use it, I can't because the accessories were not available is worse to me than just not having it in. Sure you are buying something for the future, but you are also buying a device for now. How you balance that is very delicate.

I can't because the accessories were not available is worse to me than just not having it in.

Would you not say that was more of a commercial reason?

The phone hardware still supported it (as did other brands) and Apple only adopted it recently. Plus, in those years they didn't really do much with it or better it in anyway? In fact, I think the current wireless standard is still half the speed of Huawei Mate 20

They didn't...

So what is your point really.

I can't really quote this, as it's the wrong format.

Sorry.

But I do feel that when you say the iPhones have higher resolution, you should include the flagship Android phones?
When there is any comparison with an Android vs iPhone - it's the flagship Androids
