Exactly what I would say, in fact I would actually promote it as everything is a remix.

I just hate it when people claim false ownership.
 
I didn't read all the fanboi stuff (android or ios) so I am posting an idea based on OP's post.

To me, it would make sense to use the harware of the iPhone 3, package it in a more modern case (similar to iPhone 4) and sell it at half the price for those who really want the i-experience.

Seeing there is no cheap alternative to an iPhone, perhaps doing what I suggested could cater for those who can not afford a R10k handset. You can call it johnny for all I care. Fact is you can not buy the 3GS new anywhere - only second hand. So, do what comes next to target the cheaper market and package old hardware in something that looks good and profit.

You will see another design change take place when flexible OLED's become the norm, but using your lack of insight I guess we will then say everyone is coping whoever comes out with the 1st OLED phones.

As I understand it samsung has already filed a patent for and intends to start production of flexible screens in late 2012 so will be intresting to see there the technology takes us.

I refuse to call it "the new Ipad" - that is really truly ridiculous. Whats the next one going to be called, "the newer iPad"?

Apple, lets see how many iterations we can get out of this:

- the new iPad
- the newer iPad
- the newest iPad

Maybe they hoping by then that tablets will have become antiquated.

Besides the naming weirdness, I think it's a solid upgrade and exactly what Apples clients eat up. The marketing was phenomenal and I think they are smiling all the way to the bank.

The "iPad 3" gets my vote :D

Who said they didn't?

We all know Apple blatantly steal and take from others to make there own products. We also know that Apple is a hell of a lot better at keeping secrets than say LG. There where even threats about this

I am not saying they did, I am just showing that could have been possible, using your train of thought.

From my perspective, the square thing with a large screen and limited buttons and rounded corners is just a logical way to design something that will be used as a phone that run applications with the technology at hand, and drawing from desktop experience it just natural to have icons in a grid. So no one copied anyone in particular. They may have drawn on some elements used by others but thats just the best way to do it. Can you imagine a world every keyboard was arranged differently or every application menu's followed its own idea's.

I wasn't apologising on behalf of apple. I was sorry to hear that he had a bad experience. The same way I would say sorry to hear your brother was in a car crash. Even though I wasn't involved

In reply: Please list these fantastic devices along with their superior abilities and include their price. I agree, people who buy simply because of the brand are idiots. But then the advertising world would sink tomorrow if we weren't all idiots to some extent. Apple DO however make some fantastic products, albeit at a premium. To deny this FACT points simply at haterdom.

The legislation will either not be passed, or it will be side stepped. The internet is greater than team America.

That's actually subjective

In the last few months I've listed a number of issues, like lack of lack of Flash, lack of hotspot, 3G limit, no SMS, weak app store, shoddy camera, download issues and numerous others. Only to be hit 'We don't care!' 'We don't use it!' 'Never experienced it! 'Buy an Android!' 'Silly feature!' 'Use this workaround!' ... there's no sense in him even listing any other product when the reply is very predictable

Personalized yes, but with similarity. You need a base to work from. If every Android vendor did there own thing on how it operates it would fall flat, all of them basically have a app tray, notice bar on top and a general back and home buttons. The general feel stays the same.

Its that similarity that people copy to form a standard as you wish, like pinch to zoom, dragging a finger to unlock and so on.

I don't think there are many people who deny any flaws/errors/weaknesses. Understand that the flaws they might see might be different to the flaws you see.
But what if they do? Why is it so offensive to you?
Let them enjoy their bliss. Why do you need to tear that down?
