Apple iPad 2 launched

No you don't. You can connect to the iStore remotely and when you do get around to docking with your PC or MAC it will sync those DLs back.

So you need lots of bandwidth then?
If you wanted to watch a 4.7 gig movie, you have to download it?

Wouldn't it be nice if you could just plug in your flash drive and hard drive and watches movies in any format?
Without having to convert them, or go through itunes first, or spend money on bandwidth.

Wouldn't it be nice if you can copy and paste and files you like onto your ipad?

I guess as per usual, if the apple product can't do it, then its because nobody needs it.

Hang on, do you mean to tell me that you can manifest files and documents onto an SD card or USB drive by sheer will? Why don't you start selling that?

huh? What u on about?

nevermind...

It doesn't cook dinner either.

It would be lovely and not impossible - you just need to write the app :) and you can watch in any format. And there is no need to plug anything into it - you can use the WiFi connectivity.

Of course I am assuming that you have a PC in addition to the external drives or memory sticks. And if you have a PC, what's wrong with connecting via iTunes?

Yeah, that is what I was saying -- unfortunately it is not a standalone device yet.

OK so what did they add to the ipad, second camera, blue-tooth? Wonder why they just don't release a complete device in the first place. Always baby steps.

I want to import the iPad 2 with 3G, but turns out it's network-locked to AT&T. I might still order it and wait for a network unlock.

Is there an app to browse shares on your pc and copy files etc?

Neither is the SD Card, USB drive or external hard drive. You still need to copy content onto those, so stop lamenting something which doesn't exist.

Where was the first camera?

The first iPad came with bluetooth.

There's this thing called Google. And since you're posting to a forum I assume that you can read, so why don't you do some research and stop being an idiot.
Baby steps may be in order after all.

We need someone to come up with like spreadsheet, maybe a shared one on google docs or something. Basically a comparison of what you can do between something like a galaxy s, xoom, ipad, ipad2 and maybe those same things but rooted/jailbroken.

Wow. Your reply has nothing to do with the previous comment. How about we keep our Tourette's to ourselves?

I KNOW! Right?!

Those iPad buyers must hate being able to access the App Store whenever they like.

Your reply conveniently ignores context in this situation. In order to demonstrate what I mean, I offer you the following:
I got honey on my sneakers a couple of years ago. It's was sticky.

Haha! You're waiting for an Operating System to come up with ideas? I hope that works out for you.

Passive aggressive behavior, sarcasm, failing to be relevant, superiority complex. A few of the many traits of a troll. :D

edit; wow I go back a single page and man, you're a particularly busy sort of troll. Even I rate a mention. You must really like apple/ipads or being trolly. I'm not sure which one is worse, though. :p

You know, we can smell our own. And you, my friend, smell very familiar.

This is a post announcing a new product. I fail to see where it asks you to act like an obnoxious brat who insults everyone else in the sandpit.

Still no idea what you're on about.

But enjoy whatever it is. ;)
You're complaining that the iPad hasn't got SD or USB slots. You say that means it's not a stand alone device and you need a PC to get content onto it because of this. Following your argument, that means that getting content onto other SD/USB slot-enabled tablets means that they can't be stand alone devices either because the content on said SD card or USB devices need to come from somewhere - ie. a PC.

Hah, you do realise that for the past 2-3 pages you've made 8 separate insulting or sarcastic posts towards others... right? Posts that really do not add anything to the main topic. So please understand my confusion with your above statement.

And all I did was point how some hard truths. :)

I forgive you your confusion. What I don't forgive is how your "hard truths" are opinions masquerading as facts. All of the points you raised were flawed.

sombodydunnit already, and dunnit betta.

Do you know this for a fact? Have you tried every tablet that's out there?

Apple have won the battle because they had a head start, they have a fantastic brand with millions of loyal (read ignorant) fans and great marketing.

I suppose that every single iPad was sold to existing Apple customers who jumped ship from the Mac. Is that the gist of it?

Suggesting that their OS is the reason is a ridiculous.

Uh, that's not what I saw in the keynote. It was all very much about the ecosystem - hardware, OS & apps that makes the platform successful.

What's also interesting is that apple hadn't released anything on iOS4 prior to launch, aside from, hey safari is quicker (i.e. nothing to make you go wow, awesome)

To be honest, you lost me in all the "crazy" there, Charlie.

whereas honeycomb features were announced up the whaazoo and there was plenty of awesome.

There's the moneyshot. A fAndroid posting comments on the Apple article.

Makes me think they're holding back to allow their early adopting, trendy vintage clothes wearing sycophants the opportunity to make an impulse buy before they know what they've done.

Remind me again, am I the one that's being insulting?
