It's not a new thing and there are a fair amount of scam apps. Apple can't pollice everything - and in the interim, they do earn money. So it's in their interest to just turn a blind eye. I think they say 2% of the top 1,000 app store apps are scams that Apple profit from?

Use it every night on my bedside table and was one of the features I was looking forward to most with the addition of Magsafe to my new phone.

By far the most meaningful change from the 11 to the 16 was Magsafe for me.

And I was deeply annoyed to find out that the motion detection doesn't apply to non-Pro phones. I didn't expect the Always On bits to work for obvious reasons, but figured the motion detection would still be there.

Fortunately it's not too painful to just tap the screen to see what the time is and becomes a common habit quickly enough.

If you only look at 128GB storage sure, but even that's outrageous in and of itself.

I would literally just buy an iPhone 14 then if I was willing to spend that money.

Just stop buying stuff at launch. When I get a new phone on contract I always look what the phone cost new(on specials etc) to see if I'm not getting screwed with the contract.
So my current SE I got 1 and 1/2 years after launch and it was going for R7999 at that stage on a few specials.
