Hi

I recieved a survey to rate my experience.I did mention the delays from the time the item is delivered to the time its dispatched.Hope they resolve it

Also filled out the survery. Pasted the link this thread in every free text field I could find.

(And Aramex, if you're reading, I still have not received my 20% discount voucher for completing the survey)

The problem with using AGS with China, is they then want the shipping address in Chinese, and AGS gives it in English. Bit of a mess up, so I prefer to not use AGS when shipping from China.

Your package from ARAMEX SHANGHAI, weighing 0.20 kg under is already in your Shanghai Aramex Global Shopper account. However, it's on hold for 30 days because it contains an item we cannot ship to your country. You may choose to return it to the retailer, ship it to another local address or ask us to discard it.

So mifi device is no go.

Any reason why? The battery, perhaps?

"Please be reminded that your shipment contains unacceptable items (Mobile WiFi with battery).

Please note we can return the shipment to your supplier at a cost

Please provide valid supplier address for us to estimate the return charge."

The email I got, even have to pay for return shipping lol

Ok I miss read the document, any items with a battery cannot be shipped from china warehouse, power banks can't be shipped from any of the warehouses.

So....how come we can buy cell phones with batteries with no problems ? I have bought a laptop and several cell phones from Gearbest and tinydeal with no problems.....sent via DHL. But I think they were all distributed by their Hong Kong store and not their China store

Didn't anybody read the Unacceptable Items List? China in particular will not ship any item with a battery. Hong Kong are a bit more lenient, and are not specifically mentioned.

I found this thread after searching for Aramex. I have always used DHL for my other purchases, which usually contained cell phones, tablets and laptops. But I bought some cheaper items from Gearbest 2 weeks ago, and didn't want to pay so much and get DHL to send them, so I chose the cheaper Aramex option.

This is my first experience with Aramex. What is the usual time it takes for Aramex to deliver to South Africa ? I have been a bit disappointed so far with their tracking updates. I guess I am just used to DHL who update many times a day, and only take 2 - 3 days to deliver. I suppose it's normal considering Aramex were wayyy cheaper than DHL.

So, how long do they take ?

Welcome. Yes, Aramex Global Shopper (AGS) are way cheaper, but you get what you pay for. Expect delivery in about 2 weeks. Expect emails asking for payment even though you have paid, and NEVER save your credit / cheque card to their system as it will prevent you from taking advantage of the discounts they sometimes offer.
I have used them for years, and although it can sometimes be frustrating, the good deliveries by far outweigh the bad.

Well let me say this. Me on the other hand are only ever used Aramex. No probs all the way. But now I bought something from Amazon USA and for the first time saw that they use DHL as a carrier. What a disaster. My parcel is at customs for the fith day and this after I phoned them twice to give the needed details to release the parcel.

Ordered on the 24 August and still waiting.

Aramex it would be here within seven days. Now the birthday gift must kept by myself and I have to buy the item locally and pay more.

Thanx DHL.
Learnt my lesson the hard wayn
All I can say is... never ever again DHL.

DHL from Hong Kong or China is excellent. I have bought about 7 or 8 times from there and used DHL. The fastest time from pickup in Hong Kong until they are at my gate is 2 days. The slowest was 5 days - that was because there was a weekend in between.

Thanks for the good words about Amarex, I feel better now. I just wish they would give more updates on their tracking page.

Nice, they don't respond to my emails asking for progress, they don't answer their phones and they forget to "get back to you tomorrow".

A support ticket on the Aramex website hasn't been answered since the 29th, at some point I'm going to fire up something to spam their ****ing stupid site with tickets until my parcel makes a movement.

I feel your pain. My parcel also appears to sit motionless for days, almost a week with no updates on their tracking site. Unless they have no tracking once it hits the land of Zuma ? Does Aramex stop showing tracking information once in South Africa ?

Australia has just been added. Nice.
There are a couple of items over the years on eBay that were on auction I could never bid on as the Australians insist on bidding to be "Australia only".

I don't think customs this side ever exclude shipping costs. They just look at the total at the bottom and go with that.
