Aramex global shopper

My parcel left the Hong Kong depo on the 28th & hasn't arrived in the country yet. This is unusual. My parcels usually arrive the following day. Should I worry or give them the benefit of the doubt assuming they are unusually busy at this time of the year?

The theft thread has worried me a little.

3 days is average to get a parcel from a depot to JHB, so don't worry yet.

My missing parcel is called Phone/Phone Accessories, so I bet I will never see it again.

Let me give them another day. Did your parcel make it to customs? I know that's the black hole. I find it hard to believe that it would be Aramex staff that are stealing these packages.

Did you have AGS Protect enabled? Are you planning to claim?
This parcel was $32, so I cannot claim under AGS protect.

"Worried about lost or damaged shipments? Don’t be. With AGS Protect, you can shop online with ease and have all of your shipments above US$100 and up to US$2500 or equivalent protected against loss or damage."

According to the tracking, it entered customs on 3rd November, and is still there.

" Your shipment has been stopped by customs, we have not been advised what is required from you. Once I have this information I or our stops team will contact you."

Sorry to hear that. Does it have the "Held in Customs - Awaiting Customer Instructions" status?

It does, and as I have just received my exporters/importers code via email not more than 10 minutes ago, I am ready to do battle.

Just saw something else on the AGS Protect page: *Shipments of up to US$100 or equivalent are automatically covered by Aramex Global Shopper as per the Terms & Conditions. It's further down on the AGS Protect page. May be worthwhile following up on that because it seems to imply that items below US$100 are actually covered free of charge.

How long does "Held in Customs - Awaiting Customer Instructions" usually last for? Mine also has that status now and I asked them what instructions they require other than to deliver, but as per usual, I haven't received any reply.

So I shipped my first package with AGS.

I received an email that said I must upload the invoice onto the waybill, but when I click on the waybill number I get
Shipment Not Found
.

Do I need to wait, or contact them?

Wait. JHB only started work at 7.30am. It takes a while to enter in all incoming parcels, especially at this time of the year.

If you still want a Google Home Mini you can still order one for $29 through the Google Store.
https://store.google.com/us/product/google_home_mini?hl=en-US

I wan't sure if I actually could order one as surely they pick up on my South African billing address, so I clicked BUY NOW...and...
I now own a coral one for R448.25. This makes the 2nd one I have ordered.

Billing address doesn't have SA, and all of the dropdown menus have US states and info.
How sure are you you'll get your package?
US only is stated everywhere..

I did not use Chrome, as it knows where I am located.
I used my Samsung Tab, which auto-filled the billing address as my South African address with USA as location and a zero before the post code.
Google seemed happy as the sale went through. I will only know for sure on 5th December when they ship it, but as the delivery address is New York I anticipate no problems (touches wood).
