Saw this advert flash across my screen and want to know where Openweb have been the last 3 weeks?

"OpenWeb's Unshaped ADSL accounts are up to R80 cheaper than any other ISP on the market."

and the price.....................R89 per GB

Well, FNB connect are offering 1GB unshaped for R69 so technically Openweb is full of it.

yep, but it also says "than any other isp on the market", so it would have to able to be up to R80 cheaper FOR EACH(every) other ISP, which it's been proven not to be! so still false claim =p

you are comparing unshaped bandwidth with shaped bandwidth. To be fair you should list the prices of the other ISPs unshaped bandwidth as well.

Its unshaped saix, so its one of the cheaper options out there. But when u buy that you get no support which is usual for openweb.

I have a 2gb unshaped with openweb and only pay R159. That is cheaper than most isps!!

I pay R58 for 2GB of IS-fibre international goodness from Afrihost - you're paying almost 3 times as much for your bargain!

But I AM happily pumping away at 430KB/s. Somehow I cant justify paying triple the price for "unshaped" when this doesn't seem very shaped to begin with? Low international latency, responsive browsing, fast p2p. What are you getting from your unshaped account that I'm not from mine?

I game alot and these accounts bring my latency down to an acceptable level. With those afrihost accounts I get lag when I play my poker. The ping time is just too high

What times do you play?

Why not look into semi shaped then you will save yourself a few rands.
You might need it for the electricity increase.
