Don't really care if you believe me or not. The OP asked what would make me think a genocide is coming and I answered honestly, by implication that means that should what the officer say be true it's a definite indication in my eyes that something is very very seriously off.

As for your opinion - well lets just say your post history speaks for itself

Not sure to be honest, I was incredulous at his statement and didn't want to discuss it with him further. Thought he was just trying to stir as with many people out there. But if it is the case we should be worried. As I answered R13 below, the OP asked what would make me consider it the start of genocide, this would....

In addition to those signs I would include the plan is to amalgamate the Metro police with the SAPS. This bears the grubby fingerprints of the government’s mission to centralise all potential threats to their hegemony. Other signs are:

#1 The disbanding of commandos.

This is a pity because they had the infrastructure (ambulances, hospitals, etc.), the command structure and a large, disciplined body of men who could be activated at a moments notice. They would have been useful for natural catastrophes (climate change), bush fires, floods, earth quakes, etc. They didn’t wimp-out easily.

#2 The navy has been rendered ineffectual.

#3 The air-force has been rendered ineffectual.

#4 The army has been rendered useless and has provided a patronage haven for supporters.

#5 The population is in the process of being disarmed.

#6 Restrictive legislation has been put into place to prevent the population from importing weaponry.

#7 Any half-way effective police unit has been disbanded (like child-abuse, rape etc. units and the Scorpions [of course].

#8 There are efforts to centralise the metro police with the SAPS.

#9 School shooting teams have been disbanded.

# 10 The media is being attacked (already mentioned).

There must be a bunch of other stuff that hasn’t occurred. Things don’t look too bright.
 
imo one of the earliest signs is when folks start referring to "them" and "us" and this spreads into further polarisation in terms of culture/religion/ethnicity/greed, etc. Next step is the "de-humanising" of your "enemies" through restriction of movement, removal of freedom and all liberties, which will engender hatred. Then all you need is a spark...

All these were also present under the National Party!! In fact you could be describing most of the worlds so called "democracies"...
 
If the ANC started preaching hatred for white people as their official stance, then I would worry.

Personally, I don’t see a situation brewing to threaten my livelihood but when that happens, I will seek something better at another country. I have set some trigger levels to monitor many aspects that affect my general livelihood. Generally, if there are tensions in SA affecting the general harmony I see day-to-day, then I would leave. Maybe something similar to events that lead to homeland country to be on brink of collapse between 1989 - 1993.

in my opinion this is spitting in the face of people who HAVE experienced genocide. there is no coming genocide and even if there were, it's not an entire race group, it would be the mindless masses who would quickly be quashed by the police and army
