Argh!

No answer.

This whole thing is costing me a fortune in phone calls and petrol. Wonder if I can claim it back somehow?

Wendy Knowler then? :)

Well I'll give him the benefit of the doubt since he actually HAS been calling me back etc. Perhaps he's just out to lunch.

But he'd better have some good news for me when he gets back. I think I'll make this my first threatening phone call...

*strokes bottle of booze lovingly*

You know, making excuses for them doesn't help you :p

Even if he is taking lunch... Need I say WTF?

True, but this guy is actually keeping me updated for the most part. I've received about 20 separate calls from him in the last day. While they weren't massive updates, at least he was letting me know what the current situation is.

I know making excuses for them isn't my job. That's why this will be the first threatening phone call

Hopefully he has a good excuse then :)

Any idea what you're going to say?

Been mulling it over, but generally prefer to be spur-of-the-moment. Never seems as devestating when it's "read".

Will start off and ask him what's going on. He'll likely come up with some excuse. Then I'll tell him how unfortunate it is, because I have paid my money and have not received the money back or the product, so now I'll have to escalate to the relevant authorities: Kaira Global, Wendy Knowler and SAP... In no particular order.

Edit: He just sms'd me (gee, that's professional). He's in a meeting.

Suprisingly, yes. As I say, I'm getting tired of fighting.

Eh, I understand. From August to the end of September, I had trouble with Telkom. They sent out two technicians that pointed out that the DSLAM I'm connected to has problems. Long story short during the day my speeds are about 400Kb/s and during the evening if I'm lucky 1,500Kb/s. The last one that was here went to the DSLAM and tested it and found it reached a max speed of 2,200Kb/s...

After repeating myself to at least 20 different people, and after both times that I reported the fault it was "cleared" without anything being changed whatsoever, and after having to waste 2 hours of my time (this would be 30-40 minute waiting intervals on hold) trying to get hold of someone to undo some idiot's mess because he didn't understand the words which came out of my mouth - specifically, "I DO NOT HAVE A PROBLEM SYNCHRONISING. DO NOT LOWER OR ADJUST MY SYNCH SPEED!" I gave up.

I still have the same problem, but there's nothing I can do about it except find myself a upset again and again by false hope, false promises and the same rudimentary bull that makes Telkom, Telkom.

I tend to fork out R1000-odd to them every month, and this is the service that I get in return :) If I could leave them and choose a better DSL provider, trust me - I would in a second.

Yes, I understand how you feel... Or at least pretty close. The difference is though, if you get so tired of fighting that you reach the point of giving up, you're just going to find yourself a few thousand short and - if you're lucky - with a laptop you don't really want.

Don't let them win. You don't deserve it.

FIGHT THEM!!!

I hate business via SMS. But I had no choice: no-one at Comstar even knows what meeting he's in, and thus no-one knows when it will conclude. And Richard isn't giving a straight answer regarding its conclusion.

He tells me there's nothing he can do until HP gets back to him. I told him that there may be something I can do. I will escalate it further, since it seems this matter is not urgent enough for HP.

All via sms (bleh)

Notification via text... Sure, I can live with that. Conversation with a business via texts like a 14-year-old girl... Jeeeez....

So after my half-threatening SMS, he somehow manages to step out of his N.B. meeting and call me. How convenient that HP called him just 10mins before (I'm pretty sure his sms was around 10mins ago). Anyway, apparently they don't have many BrightView models.

1) Lie number 1: BrightView is not popular enough

They say that even if they wanted to help, they couldn't because they simply don't have any.

They say they're going to try and "make a plan", whatever that means. They've sent the matter to some other guy who can apparently "make things happen". It should be another 30mins or so.

2) Lie number 2: They'll call back in 30mins.

Obviously (2) is still pending, but I'll put money on it

Edit:

Forgot to mention. He said it'd be 50/50 whether they could help me or not. I said that's fine, but in the event of the 50percent going the other way, I'll expect a full refund, since the specs were specified to the salespeople.

Maybe I should mention Wendy to him

What did you half-threaten them with?

But see - a bit of "grr" works.

So... what is his job exactly? Manager? Sales person? Exactly what kind of meeting would he have that he'd "step out" from? Just curious, is all.

Exactly, the next time he calls without a solution, you tell you'll have to take this up other consumer rights boards. And by all means, mention Wendy and your lawyer.

Because you've paid for something that you don't have. And if they can't provide it they need to refund your money
