Home Affairs’ new online booking system — what to expect

The Department of Home Affairs will launch an online booking application which it says will reduce queuing times at its offices.

Please correct the following sentence in the article: "eHomeAffairs allows citizens to apply for their Smart ID and passport online". Only citizens born in SA are allowed the system. SA citizens born abroad and naturalised SA citizens aren't allowed to use the system.

If this trend were to continue in the coming months, South Africa could hit the target of 70% in 17 to 18 weeks, around the last week of 2020 or the first week of 2021.

Minister of Communications and Digital Technologies Khumbudzo Ntshaveni says the Free State has become the first South African province to completely switch off its analogue television transmitters.
