Article: No white men for SAA cadet program: union

Well if there is a oversupply of white pilots,then maybe there is a oversupply of white passengers and white tax payers.When can the tax payers strike?

Prepare to be disappointed then. They have been running this program since the 90s I got accepted but opted for varsity.

They felt it was too expensive to do it there. It apparently cost about R700K per cadet. So, they moved it back here to develop local capability and other reasons.

We could dig up their financials for that time, but I have no reason to do so. It's expensive but not implausible, this is the cost of sending them down to Oz, housing, feeding, etc and training. Do you know for example, what university education would cost per year without subsidies?

Knowing SAA and this country it was not for anything so noble.
Perhaps kickbacks were not offered?
Perhaps a race issue?
Whatever it was I doubt it was for anything remotely connected to cost

Agreed. Costs never deterred them for anything else as they know it's not their money. Cost are mostly just used as an excuse to justify their actions. Reminds me of the "Nurses" fiasco a few years back!
