UNISA recently introduced end user computing module for all students(afaik), and when I did the practical exam earlier this year at the UNISA computer lab in Pretoria, there were some people that could not even spell Pretoria

For any UNISA exam you have to write down in which city/town you are taking the exam.

Um no... If you have great scores pre 1998 , they still submit your acceptance to the "old" standards..

Adminision requirements are still relatively the same to the old system, however the Universities are forced to have a PDI score of 40%, meaning a lot of students get into varsity during their first year and just drop out eventually, about 14% of the students when I last checked out, that enroll in a mathematics/science degree actually complete their degree.

Can't you see? They probably gave up "bettering" the country a long time ago. Maybe they are just trying to tear down the little civilization this country has left and eventually break it down to villages again where you wear a leaf and hunt for food, killing off other tribes etc.

This is really becoming a joke now, and there is nothing we can do about it. It feels as if everyone is just watching all this BS unfold.

Blade is a disgrace to the south African community (b,w,c,i)....I dont know how this ppl think, if they think at all..so now students whu failed are going to Varsity....and they r gona fail again dismally...wht u gona do next? tell the varsities to give degrees nd diplomas...if tht happens whu is gona hire those students knowingly tht they hav diplomas but they failed...I wrote my matric in 2003 and the whole year, all everyday was going to skull....trying to get those A's, wel 2003 matric was easy i must say....anyways if the student fail u knw u gona b blamed for tht....but i think its beta to be blamed for tht....now because of blade the students of 2010 might have burden to prove themselves out there that they were not condoned...im talking about those who worked hard to pass....Disappointed

Not at all. After you pass the entry level grade 12 part then maybe but fresh out of school you can pretty much be as bumb as a bag of hair, but if your parents has money and your are BEE you will be allowed to waste their money for 6 months to a year. Remember they do and have admitted to it allow the black learners that wants to study first then they will let a few whiteys in.

Which previous period is this that required students have 6 or more distinctions in the right subjects? The average number of matric subjects has always been around 6... your statement is full of hyperbole and probably untrue. Unless of course an extinction is a different thing from the more well known distinction (in this previous period you refer to).

I got a degree and I finished matric with C's and D's

There where people from my class with A's who flunked out of first year.

Today I have the confidence to compete on any job Market. I have no problem getting a job in SA or the UK in a very difficult labour Market.
