They were always redundant, I'm not sure how anyone could think otherwise. Their existence here is due to government legislation.

Why must there be an increase, and why should your employer care what your salary bought you last year and what it buys you this year. That is your problem not theirs.

I haven't had an inflation matching increase in 5 years.

The ability to do things for themselves, for a start. I imagine you're all for parking attendants getting unionised and demanding minimum tip standards for showing me how to get into a parking space which I have already proven I can do by passing my drivers license...?

So if petrol attendants vanish today, every single south african will know how to fill their tanks? No? So its legislation and something else?

If a person can't figure out how to fill a petrol tank and they've been driving for years and filling up at petrol stations for years then they're just plain stupid and deserve to have their vehicle removed from their possession and their driving license revoked.

Don't get upset with one set of bosses screwing staff if you won't get upset with ALL bosses screwing staff. That's called being a hypocrite.

My boss isn't screwing me over, I get increases... actually better increases than most people in the private sector, but they still don't match inflation.

So because people protest against unfair behaviour and dont just sit and accept what they are given, that is also wrong?

Ummm... what does that have to do with the price of eggs?

You were stating that petrol station owners MUST give the attendants an inflation matching increase. You have yet to explain why they MUST do this.
