Avoid Cell C Fixed LTE product

So glad I saw this as I was about to order CellC Fixed LTE via Afrihost today...

Guess I'll stick with my Vodacom LTE 100GB and Rain LTE 110GB packages.

How much is the Vodacom 100GB?

R999 p/m. A bit expensive but the speeds is great and always stable, exactly what I need as I work via a VPN quite often. VPN via Rain is just a no-go, only good for streaming and browsing.

CellC's 100GB package might be half that price, but you can clearly see in this thread what type of service you'll receive. You get what you pay for.

Almost 5pm and my first test failed because the connection was so poor. 2nd attempt I get this:

Honestly, this is just BS, Cell C. I want my bloody money back.

Good luck. They will probably tell you that a technician will work on the problem.

Took them almost a year to not fix my piss poor connection.

The objective is to hopefully ward off others before they fall into the same trap.
Did you take it with the modem? You could cancel.

I took it with the modem, have to wait 6 months to cancel.

No, thankfully! I have my Rain sim still so I am going to have to bite the bullet and get that service upgraded again. This Cell C is a waste of time and money.

And now at 9pm I have ZERO internet from Cell C at all. Nix. Nada. Squat. Just a red light on my B618 modem when there should be a teal light. Back to Rain we go.

Honestly, I don't know how companies like this are actually allowed to stay in business. I really don't.

This is a first for me. And dealing with these morons at WebAfrica is like trying to explain neuroscience to ants. I can't believe how useless they are as an ISP. How do they actually remain in business? FFS!

No internet at all in Musgrave, Durban.
Ordered Rain mobile sim, hopefully I have better luck there

Link to the VC deal?

I VPN to the office on Rain, no problem.

Still bad

I wonder if the cretins are working on fixing whatever this issue is? I have actually just lambasted WebAfrica and cancelled the service because I thought they had cut me off. Ever since I signed up for this I have had hassles making payment for it. They don't debit me and yesterday when I tried to pay by card the system initially said it went through but then WebAfrica showed me an error. Then their system today says I have paid, but no money shows as taken off my bank. Honestly, it's the worst customer experience I have had in a long time. They make Telkom look good.

Lol, they make Telkom look good..........

Same in Pretoria. Every evening and weekend it drops right down to unusable speeds. Used to get 15mbps to 30mbps when I got the service a few months back. Now both international and local is completely buggered. So I agree, just avoid it.
Hi,

Taken through webafrica. Its in Glen Anil, Durban.

Dear Lilggg

Thank you for getting back in touch with us.

Have you reported the issue to WebAfrica? You will need to report this issue to them so they can log a ticket with our Networks Department so we can have your query resolved.
