Axxess uncapped express + SCREWED

remember you cant test it from the same machine you running uTorrent on... nearly all routers will not allow a loopback request.

try from another machine and remember the port you are using. that uTorrent forum URL I posted, those people are using Firefox where they dont NEED to enter the port I think... but for us we have to

yeah I got 3 machines in my office and tried through typing just the machines IP and that works but when I type in my URL domain it does not work.

and yes I do have gmail.

would like to get this setup so I can use the webui and add torrents when I think of them when I am not in the office

my gmail address is eontaylorza[at]gmail[dot]com

Thanks to IRG, HTC_GUY, THESTEALTH for pointers on my torrents. Will fiddle with w/e and see what comes up.

AXXESS came back to me and implied that they don't limit speed on torrents. Also came up with a few suggestions i am looking into.

Heres hoping! :)

are u downloading from an international site or local? Wats the best setting for torrent downloads- ie. Number of active downloads, max upload speed, number of connections. I get a global download rate of between 100-300kbps which is rather erratic. Maybe you can gimme suggestions on how to tweak it? When i look at how much u've downloaded my 50gigs pales in comparison lol

Well I've probably broken about 200GB by now... just too lazy to update my sig! :D

You running a 4MB line I assume? TO be honest I dont bother downloading during the day, its just not worth leaving my PC going all day long for such a pathetic download speed

As a rule I never have more than 1 active download going, unless the seeds are very weak.. then I will have 2, but that hardly ever happens. I dont bother with a max upload speed, I leave that 0 (unlimited) and my download speed is also 0 (unliited).

100 - 300 K/sec is not bad by any standards... :) Just sounds like you not downloading popular torrents. Try something popular tonight, like a tv show episode that has been released within the last couple of days... and let us know.

FYI

A lot of peeps here use torrents and news servers, and then some also use RS which is MUCH better than torrents. I have NEVER had a single slow download speed with RS, its full line speed non stop, I love it.

Well i use thepiratebay.org and mainly download the hi-def torrents which are in mkv format- 1gig per file. So that probably explains why it takes long but maybe some suggestions to tweak it. Any other sites i can use? Any suggestions? Wud the local torrent sites be quicker than the international? Wont even bother with them cos they carry on like some cult where only select few are welcome ;) lol so will stick to international torrent sites. With regards to active downloads i have 7- maybe i should try changing that BUT the seeds are low on most torrents

well im gonna stick my neck out here and say that when you have few seeds you are gonna have slow download speeds. In thoery this is not really accurate, as if you had 20 seeds and they were all in your area you probably gonna have good speeds, but we (you and I) use international torrents, which means more IS faster...

I also download some 720p files, and I have never had really good speeds to be honest. Try the standard version of the same file and watch it take off! :D

no disrespect to the guys at bitfarm, but I stick international. untill SA users dont have to contend with a cap, I dont see things changing much... :( People simply arent prepared to use their cap by uploading and seeding... its just too expensive, which is a fair argument!

like I said though, if a torrent is slow... I check RS, then its full line speed all the way...

Yeah thats the thing. not everyone has the resources to get the uncapped option. I think maybe my problem is the 7 active downloads at once. But i've found that at maximum 20-30 seeders connect to me. Could that be a port forwarding issue with the modem firewall? I have a belkin n1 mimo modem/router.

Dude, I don't even bother with torrents. Just download anything you want (mp3's, TV series, movies, games, images ;-), etc) from RapidShare. It's faster than p2p and more reliable. And it's free.

You have port forwarding setup right??

Unless you have a contact with a premium account, or you have one yourself, this is a pain in the a$$! Downloading using a single connection, without a download manager is a nightmare...

Im using a user and pass and I Q everything up which is nice, but not everyone is fortunate enough... :(

So torrents are a good alternative I think, coz its free :D

yeah port forwarding is set up correctly.. on my router i can set it up and i set the torrent client so it doesnt randomize the port on startup every time..

yesterday i downloaded heroes s3e20 and it downloaded in like 2 hours. 1gig file.. so guess i was just getting excited for nothing.. but i'm sure it was becos there were 2090 possible seeders.. and 30 connected.. on the other torrents there were 5 connected out of a possible 40 odd.. how can i increase the amount of seeders that connect to me? wouldnt that speed up the download?

generally speaking yes it would...

Im not 100% sure how to force more seeds to connect to you, anyone else here know??

Have a look at the swarm size though. If there are 100 seeds available, but only 20 in the swarm then you not gonna connect more than 20.

also take into account that people are connecting and disconnecting all the time.

but I know what you mean, sometimes I have the same thing where it only connects a few seeds though there are loads available. I normally just go and find a more popular torrent, or update the tracker list... chances are if you are thepiratebay its gonna be on there = speed things up a bit.

if that doesnt work... off to Rapidshare, I just dont like setting up all those files to download... Im lazy!! :D

yeah tested it.. but i am open to sugestions on how to make double sure its correct.. i have a belkin N1+mimo modem/router.

did everything it told me to do on portforward.com
