I just got my Phillips one blade. Do what's the best with the one blade, wet or dry shave?
 
I have one of these which I love and has lasted a long time. I use it mostly to trim around the edges of my beard between bigger trims. Anyway it works great, charges with a USB type C and lasts ages.
It will work great for a GF too..

Battery will eventually die but I feel the battery will outlast the blades at which point you are due a new one anyway. + it operates as a plug in when on charge.

I am not too sure on other Wahls besides the traditional one. If you go to Clicks you will note that there are none of them on the shelf, you have to specifically ask for it, unlike the others that are freely stacked up in their boxes. The reason being that it is stolen so often...

Have had mine for at least 3 years now to replace my old set(like the one you posted). Blades went blunt after many many years of use.
Easily as good as the trusty old one. Quieter and battery lasts for ages.
