Best budget gaming mouse?

Definitely the Logitech if you can get it. An old design but still works great. I've never heard of this X7, but if their products are anything like their website.... yikes. "Smaller hole great precise" :wtf:
 
I've used the previous x7 and they really are great. My friend has been using his for 2 years now and still works great. Downside to it all, Bad website/support and spelling mistakes on box as well as the software.
 
I still have my Logitech MX500, which I got like in 2003. I have to add that I had to replace the USB cable and the buttons due to extensive gaming during high school / university ;)
... this is just one of the reasons why I mentioned the MX518 (newer version of the MX500).

Is brand really that important? I hate going anything more than 2000 dpi anyways so anything above that is really gonna be wasted. For R300 i'll be getting a mouse that does pretty much the same as more expensive mice.

Why do you hate anything above 2000dpi? You know that the higher you can get the dpi and the lower the mouse sensitivity will go the more precise your movements will be inside of fps games such as COD and BF.

I have owned an x7 mouse myself and didn't really have an issue with it, till I got my Gigabyte M8000x. Picking up such a cheap mouse afterwards just isn't the same. Best part is, the Gigabyte mouse isn't that much

Meaning? someone told me that upping the dpi and turning down in game sensitivity increases precision... Is that what you're saying?

Hmmm that sounds like rubbish to me. Ideally you want 450dpi for sniping and less than 2000 for FPS. I hate high dpi, not good for FPS i reckon. Perhaps i am wrong but for me lower dpi = more accuracy.

I have the razer abyss, very simple mouse. two click buttons and scroll with on the fly dpi which i switch between 450 and 1600. Add in a limited edition bf 3 hard mouse and your rocking :D. Although the mouse pad is the same amount as the mouse LOL but it is the best mouse pad i have used.

Why does everyone seem to associate dpi with the speed the mouse moves at? By increasing your dpi and lowering the mouse sensitivity to the point where you require the same amount of actual mouse movement as you did before upping the dpi your mouse will move more precisely.

400 dpi for sniping? No quite... I max my dpi (6000dpi) and tune my settings in game and in windows, my gaming tag is -=PsY=-Jac0 , been 1st on "RIG snipers only" in Black Ops for quite a while. The upgrade between my x7 and gigabyte reflected in my score.

My 2c worth regarding dpi settings.
 
Hmmm i will have to test it tonight, i will put my mouse on 3500dpi and lower the sense and see how it goes :D.

It just seems to me the higher the dpi the faster the mouse, at least that how it has worked for me thus far but i will give it another go.

That's why you lower the sensitivity to achieve the same speed before the increase in dpi, the end result is that it takes the same amount of mouse movement to rotate 180 for example, but you now have more precision.

I tend to agree. Higher DPI with lower in game sensitivity and you sorted.
 
i would recommend the Logitech g300, when it comes to s.a :(

should be about 300-400 bucks, but s.a always needs to wait :(
