Then why is Apple part of AOM and they've launched AV1 on their later devices if no one cares?
Or is the real reason that you don't have it & you have to knock it because that's what you do?

i'm not interested in a network way to do it all - i now stay in a retirement home and there are around 150 rooms connected to the router system that gives us network and internet - i'm not going to waste my time trying to separate all my stuff from the stuff that everyone else is using

if i try to use my own dedicated networking setup - then i don't use stuff that i'm already paying for monthly and i need to pay again just to have my own independent cr@p and the network stuff plus replacing all the drives i have with internal ones will cost 10 times what i spend on those little gadgets and i still will have to spend monthly - i'm totally not going to do that - i rather have all the gadgets and the mess in my own little room - its less of a problem to my circumstances ....... though that doesn't stop anyone else from doing things their own way 😉

I tried to connect my USB to the front USB on the AMP, it only allows for music, so how are you connecting your media directly to the amp? I also look behind and there is no USB

Not USB … HDMI

So HDMI straight from ATV through to HDMI on amp, and then HDMI out to TV. So I’m really only using the TV as a monitor

i already am just with the phone i use - Samsung probably sold their entire stock of A05s in this building :p besides i'm the youngest guy in the place ..... and i'm known as the tech head in the place - is a disadvantage at times when everyone comes looking for me to get tech support when they don't know how to use their remote to switch from analog TV to Netflix LOL

They have Find My Remote … but there’s no speaker or anything to find a device? It was something half assed they added at a later stage. Hence, not built from the ground up & not a ‘real’ solution. I think I've said the same about 9 times - so you're either a goldfish, or you don't read, or you prefer to lie to yourself.

Go hide an ATV remote, an AirTag and a Google remote … and let me know which is easiest & which devices are built for finding? Can you use your voice to find the ATV remote? Or?

You really can't compare the two methods at all

You also need the Google TV streamer. The new remote's find my remote doesn't work with the older Chromecast with Google TV.
 
See Op, this why you dont ask what is the best.

You should have asked for this price point, what is a decent media player that I can buy?

for video i still use KODI with a decent skin like Aeon MQ9 - for music in great quality i still stick to Foobar 2000 - been using those for years and also have wi-fi based phone remote controls for them so they are easy to use on a PC and even easier on media boxes - i never had to explore alternatives even when i had pretty decent Hi-Fi and home theater equipment of the type that most in this forum would not have invested in and i used my PC and media boxes as my primary source units

THere are really not that many options.

It's between Amazon, Apple, Google and Xiaomi and then the various knockoffs. The only other option is the Nvidia Shield which you can get from Amazon.com (260$ with import and shipping)
