Best pre cooked ribs

A 5/10 would be generous - R125 from the local Spar.

Had them on my "still to test" list but now I'll give them a pass.

Points ranking is a good idea. The Food Lovers rack I made was a 6/10 at best. I bought more than one so I may revise that after making a second batch, if it's a better cut.

How would you rate this please on one to ten to get your average of 5/10?
Texture?
Taste?
Marinade?
Cost?
Anything else?

Thanx
It's how I would rate them against BRM, which are my standard pre-cooked ribs, until I find something better. So overall about half as good.

Texture - soft, I kept thinking they were undercooked.
Taste/marinade - mediocre

The only thing in their favour were the price. r125/kg. I should have rather paid the R130 per 700g for the BRM.

Made a second batch of Food Lovers ribs yesterday. No improvement from the first batch.
The marinade is very nice, not too sweet and no weird aftertaste like with BRM. The meat is not up to par.
I shouldn't have bought 5 packs when they were on special :(

BRM factory shop AND let staff sort for you.
I get great bargains.
Go for Offcut Cocktail at only R50 / Kg and hardly any bone.

Resurrecting this thread because I had some of the best ribs in ages.
Marinated Pork Loin Ribs - very well priced as well.

I should add the rest of their products are of great quality as well.

I will never in my life buy those pre cooked ribs in marinade again
Tough and chewy, and the BRM ones are now overpriced for the small portion of meat you get with the 1-gallon sauce.

Use this secret recipe from @bwana that I found, shhhhhhhhh

Perfect every single time, the secret is to precook the spiced ribs on a trivet with apple juice in a pressure cooker first. Then marinade them and braai them. 10/10 Every single time, no lies, even a drunk like me cannot furk this recipe up ! Don't be shy with the maple syrup when making the marinade, it is awesome.

Do I need to flog my airfryer for a pressure cooker now?

Dead serious
This is the BEST recipe I have ever found
I took a big gamble and bought the

Russell Hobbs - 6 Litre Electric Pressure Cooker

And I gambled on a trivet, I bought this one for R39

Thank goodness I did because the trivet that comes with the pressure cooker is gay.

Still no idea how the pressure cooker works, I just plug it in and press the Enter button until it starts up, for 1.5kg ribs I let it go for 40 minutes and it switches off by itself and the apple juice has all evaporated. Bud at work has the old-school version that goes on top of a stove and he and the missus cooked the same quantity of ribs in 23 minutes.

I buy the cheap Checkers plain ribs currently R89/kg, season it, and throw it in.
Here you can see my first attempt and the result was the ribs had expanded 3 times in girth.
No wonder @PoppieChoffel and @EMAM approves
@Jan was blown away and thanked me so much that he re-activated my MyBB Enterprise Edition account again.

After that throw it in a homemade marinade (as per recipe and use maple syrup coz it dissolves very quickly) and braai it, I let mine rest in ziplock bags in the fridge for >48hrs and then braai

I tried different methods. Cooking it in the sauce for a couple of hours. Falls of the but didn't absorb any sauce. Lacked flavor.

Smoked it which gave it more flavor.

This looks like a winner. Will let you know.

Maple syrup - Thought that's only available in Canada ? See it's kak expensive.
