Voting and nomination is a ridiculous measure in the first place.

Would be better if they sort the threads in that section by number of views or number of replies and pick a random thread from the top 10... but don't tell anyone that's how the winner was selected or the spam will get out of control.

In a way I agree, but from my perspective, no matter what the admins decide, there will be upset people.

RPM asked people to nominate, people got upset. He then asked people to vote. More people got upset.

See what I mean?

Well its the manner he does them in is what people are upset about.

What point does a nomination thread do if its only for 6 hours and during the time where everyone is busy working hard on a Monday and where the site is blocked thanks to proxies and stuff.

This was my sentiment in my post on the first page.

This should have been a mod/admin decision from the word go, but it's a little late :)

One can only hope it's not decided entirely by votes ( Though I know someone would be happy if that were ;) )

Would love to see yours or MickeyD win but pitty with the votes :(.

This particular set of rules are much better than myBB's and myBB's the SA's largest digital community :/

Standard MyGaming competition rules

These rules apply to all MyGaming competitions unless specified otherwise on a per-competition basis. MyGaming reserves the right to update these rules at any time.

Rules

- Make sure you are up to speed with the full MyGaming Forum rules - especially the rules related to competitions.

- Winners will have 48 hours to claim their prize. Unclaimed prizes will either be re-allocated, or will go back into the MyGaming prize pool for a future competition.

- Any funny business taking place during competitions not covered by the specific competition rules will be dealt with accordingly.

- Minimum of 20 lifetime posts required to qualify by time of the draw.

- Spamming to get yourself to 20 posts will get you disqualified.
- Spamming to earn forum activity points will get you disqualified.
- Quality conversational on-topic posts is the way to approach these requirements.

- Reviving old threads and making pointless posts will not be tolerated and will be monitored. Fair warning.

- Attempts to create multiple accounts to enter will be monitored.

- Entrants must be a resident of and residing in South Africa.

Activity competition winner exclusion guidelines

Those who have won previous activity competitions will be excluded for a few months from future competitions so as to give others a fair chance.

There will be a 3 - 6 month sit out, depending on the prize category and value.

For example, if you have won a prize in the console/gadget category, you are still eligible for the peripheral competition, and vice versa.

- Console or high-end gadget such as a tablet PC = 6 month sit out.
- Peripheral such as a keyboard or mouse = 3 month sit out.

Winner announce

- The winners will be announced in the original competition thread, as well as in a new thread in the MyGaming competition forum.

- Reminders will be sent out via the MyGaming Twitter stream and MyGaming Facebook page.

Yes and Surprisingly they are sister sites :p[/B]

Haha, and yet they are so different :D I'm going to register my first myGaming account and try my luck over there.

I have tried many times to get RPM to adopt the other sites rules but he never does.

Why is that, I wonder? It doesn't hurt to add more anti-cheating rules, really.

Agreed! I had to convince someone not to create multiple accounts to vote for my thread. I'd rather win this on merit than by stealing someone else's prize that they won through hard work.

That said, I guarantee that the admins are watching for bogus accounts, and will disqualify bad votes. Perhaps even disqualify the nominee entirely if it's bad.

Are you a clone of someone?

Seems strange to post your first post here and vote

She's a friend of mine. Feel free to ask RPM to investigate on his side.

It's quite frustrating seeing biometrics getting flack because he had the lead, and now me because I do :/

All those rules DarkSpectre quoted - I follow to the tee.

Furthermore, I busted my ass coming up with and composing worthy threads and responses to existing ones.

I can tell you now that mr_norris is not cloning accounts. We have been discussing it in private and he insists that he will not resort to such tactics, even Xiphan and I have agreed to not do such things. He is in the lead because friends are voting for him. RPM and the MyBB can check IPs for the users voting for him.

Strange cause I never connected him to that account in my post I thought he was for biometrics.

Cause it will mean he can't reward friends and stuff?
