BMW Fraud?

I know :)

But ultimately customers like me that demand a certain level of service are the exception, not the norm so companies will try their best to get out of a situation and still financially score from the deal....

Had this happened in the states, the dealership would be bending over backwards to make the guy happy...
 
Haven't read the whole thread but this exact topic was discussed in this weekends Sunday times consumer report, to load sales figures for incentives some dealers mark vehicles as sold and that can be months before they are actually sold. Illegal and you are entitled to you full motorplan, take it in with manufacturers head office, ombudsman etc.

Told my manager about the article. So he got hold of the journalist who wrote the article. She agrees with him 100%. If the outcome of tomorrow's meeting isn't that they re-instate his 3 months worth of maintenance plan she has offered to approach BMW SA on his behalf.

Actually quite sad. Customer who spent half a million with a business needs a third party for that business not to screw him over. And that is also assuming the business won't just ignore the 3rd party.

It is fudging ridiculous, pay for a new car but get a 2nd cars warranty.

Encourage your boss to try for some restitution for his wasted time and emotional suffering, seriously that in my eyes would be a completely legit expectation considering the hoops he's had to jump through to just get what he paid for.

The only way this sitaution would be acceptable is if they made the point clear to the buyer and made him sign to that effect, ie I'm buying this car for RXXXX with the knowledge that it has a reduced amount of motorplan due to it being registered as sold on the manufacturers database earlier than the aforementioned purchased date. But clearly they don't do that and never plan to, because what they are doing is shady and they do it with full intent and knowledge thereof.
 
I will blackmail them by going to all papers, Carte Blanche and ride with huge stickers on my car how BMW have defrauded me and warn everyone not to buy any car from them.

They will lose more in the long run instead of shafting me over.

So how did it go?
 
Update:

Meeting was held on Tuesday and manager was offered 6 months extension plan. So 3 months he was defrauded of, and 3 months extra.

Manager doesn't want me to mention anymore as the staff at the relevant dealer are aware of this thread. Personally I do not agree, but he is my boss. :p
 
If he got a 6 month extension for free, then its a win at the end of the day and an acceptable outcome if you ask me.
 
I personally would have been happy with the 1 year extension for half price. You pay for 6 months and get 9. The only down side (other than it being a principle thing) is that you will still end up 3 months short of the expected maximum period the car can be under motorplan when you have extended as far as you can go.
I extended as far as I can, and it worked out cheaper than paying for everything out of pocket.

Yes but that dealership is still twats. Hopefully the name remains in this thread as a warning to future customers.

Ok so they agreed to make good on what he paid for but that does not take away the fact that they have defrauded him by what appears to be illegal activity. I hope he lodges these with the correct authorities so punishment can be metered out. Its like you steal something from me but expect the charges to be dropped when you give it back after getting caught.
 
Anyone have a photo of the Sunday Times article last Sunday which referred to these fraudulant activities?

Bit of a catch 22 there. He still needs to make use of their services.
