Boy iOS 7 sucks

Sounds like Google is to blame, not Apple.

Why not test drive Safari? You might just like it.

A few other apps have a tendency to crash eg. Netflix. So I wouldn't blame google but iOS.
I prefer chrome because all my bookmarks and stuff are synchronized.

Strange.

I'm using Netflix right now. Do so almost every other night.

Never crashed.

My netflix is rock solid across numerous versions of iOS - have you tried a clean install on your device?

Safari keeps my bookmarks, reading lists, and open tabs synced across all my devices and computers.

Safari is great if you have a multiple Apple devices, which I unfortunately don't. But make no mistakes I love my iPad it's just little things that bother me about it.

Re the stability of Chrome; you certainly haven't looked at it's reviews, here FYI is a few:

Placing all the blame for app stability on iOS either reveals some technology ignorance or possibly some level of disdain for things related to Apple.

Btw as a side question: is there any reason why you didn't go the Android or Windows tablet route?

Because the iPad is the best tablet, overall. You seem to have problem with me criticizing apple. Well sorry about that but I am simply sharing my experience with an iOS 7 device, which by the way my not necessary be your experience. Any how, Apple themselves have acknowledged the problem. So please chill out and stop being a fan boy.

Funny thing is that as I was typing this reply on tapatalk, it crashed again. Why? Because I was multitasking. Fortunately I could retrieve my message when I relaunched the app.

I know Apple does no wrong in your eyes but this is not good enough for me they should release 7.1 already.

I multi-task a lot and also use Tapatalk a lot. The issue with Tapatalk crashing is Tapatalk and not iOS. No other app crashes so spectacularly.

Safari crashes most frequent. But I use it as is the most refined, smooth browser.

Question regarding tapatalk with MyBB. Just started to use the app with MyBB, I don't know it is normal. I do receive notification to replies, etc., but when I open the app, I can't see these messages, also getting confused how it handles threads. When I open the thread it doesn't show unreaded indicator count like normal browser does. I stopped using that, as browser using "old mobile" style works better.

I am sure you multi task a lot, but how is that relevant to what I am experiencing. You obviously didn't click on any of the links that I posted. Either that or your love for all things Apple is deluding you. Doing a quick google search on iOS and crashing gives me this. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1393711068.304653.jpg
And you want to tell me iOS have no problems even if Apple then selves have promised a fix. I appreciate your fanboyism, but please...

Again unfortunately you reveal what appears to be more ignorance; this time about the difference between springboard crashes & app crashes.

Basically 7.1, which I've been running for quite a while, provides fixes for the springboard issue and many other UI enhancements.... But it does nothing to fix the problems with Chrome -- those problems still need to be addressed by Google.

Your next example unfortunately is an even worse one; tapatalk is quite notorious for it's app crashes; the draft recovery was btw built in to lessen the blow of their app crashes, prior to this you would lose everything. Many of these draft recovery issues are related to how badly tapatalk is coded to recovery from app switching, for example: switching between tapatalk and Safari / Chrome.
I personally use all their apps, and guess what: they all still crash on 7.1 -- why you'd probably ask?... again as I implied it's for the same reason as Chrome: there are unaddressed bugs in their code.

Btw I code ATM for all smartphone platforms; Android & Microsoft apps are just as prone to crashes.

Going forward I suggest you do yourself a favor and read a little (app reviews, app support forums, ...), at least that way you can correctly support your opinions, and hopefully not misappropriate blame, as you've did with the inclusion of all the iOS 7 related articles.

Ps. I have no problem with criticism for any platform; assuming of course the criticism is appropriate; unfortunately in your case, it has consistently been not!

How is this dumb? When by his own admission he owns a Nexus 5:
All i know is that my iPad Air is prone to crash vs my Nexus 5 for example.
-- Surely given his existing investment in Android (Nexus 5); it's not illogical to expect him to have first considered an Android tablet? Especially when it's apparently the more stable option?

Btw the Safari app issues have been addressed in 7.1

As said before; tapatalk is quite notorious for it's bugs. Still even with that I prefer using the App over the web page re simpler access to participated, subscribed topics, notifications and timeline.

I always thought Apple vets all the apps in the store to ensure a consistent user experience. If they don't well then they should because it ruins the user experience.

You can call me ignorant all you like but what I know is that not a day goes by without a reboot or crash or something that interrupts me while using the device. The other day I was doing something on the iPad. The next thing I am looking at an apple logo. Another crash. And you some how want to convince me that the OS doesn't have a problem. You must be joking or your love for Apple is causing you not to think rationally. You remind me of the "you are holding it wrong" fiasco. In this case it is "you are running the wrong app, stupid". Or in this case, "ignorant".

PS. Btw when Tapatalk crashed it was a simultaneous crash between two apps, Tapatalk and Safari. I had to restart both of them because I was copying and pasting between the two. If that is not a stability problem for you them you standards have to be really low.

While iOS 7 is buggy you should possibly try a reinstall and setup device as new rather than restore from backup.

Although a lot of the issues come down to the Apps themselves I guess we can blame iOS 7 somewhat in that the new operating system forces developers to update their software which many obviously have a hard time doing leading to crashes with the new release.

Same thing happens with Windows XP to Vista to 7 etc.

It isn't technically the fault of the OS, but the perception is generally that because of the new OS the system is less stable.

Or at the very least do an iCloud restore instead of an iTunes one as those tend to cause some trouble.

Yes as I said before they do, but only ito their terms & conditions; basically it singles out any App that for example: crashes on load, uses unreleased API, provides xxx content, has unreliable backend services, is suspected of containing malware and/or nefarious code routines, ...

They certainly have never taken 100% accountability for the stability of Apps, and neither should they -- the success or failure of an App naturally falls to the development group behind it.

If it was all up to Apple then why would we even bother with App reviews?

Also keep in mind that the current scenario is already far more than most other platforms provide, and is already well known to be a rather challenging step for developer's in as much as it both delays the releasing of software updates, and is often very difficult to navigate for both new and seasoned developers.

Your problem as I've said is in not understanding where the problems reside and the impact of each. I have certainly never said iOS is perfect (iOS 7.06 and the forthcoming 7.1 is evidence alone of this); what I do however disagree with is the fact that you incorrectly appropriate all the blame on the OS, and therein lies the ignorance i.e. Either a technical block or an unwillingness to appreciate that the problems are far more complex than your opinion.

In this case it is "you are running the wrong app, stupid". Or in this case, "ignorant"..
Actually in this case that's exactly the problem -- you've chosen to continue to run an app that is known to crash, hence you experience more issues than others.

I use both Safari and Tapatalk; hence I know this issue too well; however as a developer I also appreciate that the problem resides in the way that Tapatalk maintains state during App switching and during times of low memory warnings, something which btw can be fairly easily addressed by the developer -- many other apps certainly don't have this problem.

Change in any environment will always bring about challenges; but similarly ceasing changes solely in favor of stability alone, arguably holds more disdain in many circles.

The problem with the simplified analogy of appropriating an inordinate level of blame on the OS is in neglecting to appreciate that Apple always provides each app developer early access to new software and features in order allow them not only to take advantage of these new features but also to ensure the continued stability of their apps on the new release.

The reasoning behind why apps break during new releases is a complex subject that most persons in thread would either not be able to technically appreciate or they'd incorrectly dismiss as trivial.

I'd however be happy take this topic to a new thread if anyone was really interested in that level of detail.

I replied directly after your multi-tasking and Tapatalk post. I'm letting you know the problem isn't iOS, it's Tapatalk.

I also have no need to click on your links because I don't have any iOS issues so not really bothered.

Ignoring everything, Droid makes a good case without just throwing around comments - what he says make sense but feel free to continue being blind to his posts.

Now have some coffee and quit getting all worked up for nothing.

It's easy to sum up really.

Lazy/bad developers.

Sadly Apple have to take the knock.
