*Note, this is for Windows XP users. I'll have a look at a Windows Vista alternative*

If you have, say, a boss who monitors for how long you have iexplore.exe or firefox.exe open, why not browse the web with notepad.exe? :p

Open Notepad

Click on "Help" -> "Help Topics"

Notepad_1.JPG

Right-click on the title bar -> Jump to URL

Notepad_2.JPG

Type the URL and click OK.

Source.

Another very nifty thing, though in a slightly different vein, is workfriendly.net

It's similiar to a proxy, except it doesn't show pics and displays websites as if they were Word documents... There's also a 'Boss Key' which changes the display to a whole lot of stuff about procrastination...

Interesting...

...reminds myself of the fake Lotus123 spreadsheet which'll show Lotus 123 process a whole lot of numbers - and you can read your book whilst it's doing that :D

I'll stick with links/lynx on my green on black terminal. No one ever doubts that it is not work. ;)

Does this get past proxies that work or schools put to ban websites like facebook ?

True, but you use Notepad (in this case) to get to the Help function. ;)

How exactly do you do it with Windows Explorer? The only help option I get is to open the Help and Support Centre, not the help function itself...
