Burger Test Lab

If I started a kickstarter would you contribute?

LOL, yeh, but from mybb you will probably raise like R0.99c on a good day.
Plus we would need a pre taste, just too make sure things are what they are!

No no. The kickstarter is for the brick and mortar. As for the rest. Well as soon as I can each person on this thread with get a burger and shake on me.

There is hope for you yet.

You should call it MyBurgerBar, or MyBB for short.

Even the people who didn't offer to taste for free get a burger and a shake?:erm:

Also why not upload some pics, so at least I can lick my screen in the mean time.........I take my tasting seriously:wtf::D

Pics will come on the weekend. Sorry it's not easy getting food stylist.

Once that is done then I can build the site. Then I can take orders.

This is a bit of a cart-horse situation

Now I really feel like having a nice juicy burger....at 7 in the morning :D

There is no problem with that, well not unless a doctor has said no, failing that, a big slab of beef between a bun is the order of the day.

Why not go try the breakfast burger?

250g is too much. I tried it at that weight and it's too much

Yeah I would agree with that. 150g to 200g max.

You could also try two 75g patties with cheese and perhaps onion in between.

Are you making your own buns?

My double cheese and bacon uses 2 x 100g, the reason for this is that it works out to 200g + 100g of pork belly. That is my max weight. Im targeting around 180g min and 350g max

Buns, not yet, I don't have the equipment but i have a baker friend that is helping out, i took him samples are recipes and we are working on it.
As for the English muffins, those are made in house at the moment

In the meantime, unfortunately I have to get my buns from a supplier, but trust me when I say that Ive eaten over 20 buns to get the right one and the different buns, Keiser, sesame seed and so forth DONT come from the same supplier. I didn't want the same recipe rolled out to different shapes, Each bun contributes to the flavour profile of the burger and compliments it, its not there just to hold the ingredients together.

Consider using a food blogger for your pictures or in the meantime start an instagram account and just take happy snaps of your food to share - use natural light and for the love of pickles, don't apply any type of yellowing filter. I think just with social media and a presence at markets, you could build a following. Just have a look at The Counter, they serve burgers and a variety of sweet treats at different markets and have become quite popular over the years.

If you make good food, people will tell their friends. Word of mouth is your best form of marketing.

You sir are correct, I know The Counter very well, old friends.

The thing is Im not doing half measures here, Im a trained creative director and only want the best. So thats why I need a food stylist on board. someone that knows the bacon hairspray technique or whatever. The original shots should be the best, from there on out I don't mind the instagram low cost approach. Im not aiming for the hipster brand here, that may be my customer, but its not my vision from the brand.
