:o well.... I did not really have to do all that... but... it's like this you see.... the co-payment on the new driver side window is %25 of R12k... so I have spent kinda of a lot on mine.

But it's totally different with a V6 station wagon - it will pay for itself as hot MILFs try to chase you down and get your number.
 
I had a Picanto 1.2 and found it to be an excellent city car. Services were around R1500 if I recall. Why not consider a bakkie? As a student I would've enjoyed the bakkie more than a car in terms of gong to beach, go camping, bikes in teh back, plenty space for coolerbox, park on pavements etc

Still worth it - had no issues with the car that left be stranded, just lots of nice to have fixes and enhancement to be honest.

Although I do admit, for a student car a V6 station wagon is a bit off the wall.

But still cool.

Seeing as you are a student. Get a 9N3 Polo Diesel Sportline. Enough doors(2 of them), light on fuel, they are kinda quick and they aren't a pain to maintain. Turbo replacements will not actually cost you a leg and if you want it go a bit faster, its easy to get a little more power of them.
