Car sound - Autostyle

Soon, I can start with the golf's sound system. Need to strip the interior first, do the sound dampening, redo interior, and then the sound can go in. :D

google is your friend on how to remove the radio and with my golfs stock radio i connected the converter onto the rear speaker cables ...simple job

but if he is not comfy rather get someone better

Everyone had some good advice, but I don't think they kept in mind that you are on a tight budget. Let us know how it sound, once installed. I am curious as well. :) Grats on your new equipment.

Also, DIY is more fun, cause then you can have a braai, some beers and most probably never finish the install. ;) :D Been there, done that.

PS. Where are you installing the 6x9's?
Hopefully your installer give you a custom backboard, as I had the '06 Runx and to make one was a mission since the board swivels in the middle!!!!!
 
Just an update. The sound is great. BUT, there are problems with the setup.
1. They didn't have a board for the 6x9's and said they would work with the stock one. They botched it. Didn't cut it properly.
2. The amp (possibly the sub as well) is always on even if I switch off the radio.
3. The watch, cigarette lighter (and possibly other battery powered stuff) are always on.

This morning I had to ask another guy to jump start the car because the battery was dead. I didn't play the sound yesterday at all (may be for 5 minutes).

What must I ask them to do?
What other possible wiring might they have screwed up?

Did the lighter port always stay on before?

They might be using the wrong source as SIGNAL for the amp to switch on,it should run off the radio,and radio should use the ignition as its SIGNAL

If that doesn't work as intended use the ignition as SIGNAL for the Amplifier :P
 
Probably using the same power line as the Lighter now which should be ignition rather than direct,and that as signal which keeps the Amp and thus everything else powered

Tx. I just hope they didn't mess with other wiring.

It sounds great. Enjoying my sound. Feels like a teenager again. Damn I missed good sound.

Just need a proper board for the 6X9 and hide them.
