Ford Kuga looks nice but fire issues

Any recommendations chaps or other options.
Important is looks, maintenance costs, fuel economy and space in that order of preference

Renaults I have anecdotal evidence only, but it's more than enough for me, these Renaults have been in my immediate family over the years and every single one of them, without exception, had electrical problems:
- Renault 5TS (1980-something)
- Renault 9 (1980-something)
- Renault Laguna (2000-someting)
- Renault Megane (2012)
- Renault Duster (2016)

One would think over almost 4 decades they'd figure out how to kill that problem for good, but no, again, they have a reputation. Will never buy the crap they produce.

Anecdotal evidence here as well. 4 Renaults spread amongst 3 friends/ex colleagues in the past 10 years. No issues. In fact, one of them went on to buy his 2nd Renault after 5 years of trouble-free driving.

Not in SA, leasing deals have been common in many countries including places like UK, USA, Canada, Australia.
 
Vitara is good just bear/bare in mind that local models have fokol Infotainment system. Just something to note if you like your tech additionally this will count against the vehicle come resale time.

Solid vehicle though with a bulletproof motor.
