Cell C fixed LTE is as good as no internet connection as everything buffers, web pages do not load ... speed test done, right next to the WiFi modem (Huawei B618) in Cape Town city centre with full LTE coverage
The second speed test is what I get from my mobile MTN connection, same location and time

Cell C Fixed LTE speed:

Download: 2.81Mbps
Ping: 53ms

MTN Mobile LTE:

Download: 59.90Mbps
Ping: 24ms

I've seen far worse than
Download: 2.81Mbps
Ping: 53ms

That's still usable for internet browsing, email.
Only a few years ago that would have been regarded as a v decent speed!

Hi Engeltjie

Please report the matter to your direct service provider, Afrihost. They will escalate the matter to Cell C Technicians.

And here's why you go direct, no hoops to jump through for support.

Jire guys, I've had this excuse for internet about September last year and complained about the exact same thing. I moved on from it but it's shocking that month's later nothing is being done about it

I get terrible speeds too with Afrihost Cell C

39ms
11.5Mbps down
6.5Mbps up
(This is as good as it gets off peak, however i intended to use it at peak)
This is with almost max signal strength due to me living right next to a tower. At around 6pm it easily drops below 3Mbps with almost 80ms ping

I have a rain sim too for during the day and i get ridiculously faster speeds
19ms
76.67Mbps down
6.91Mbps up

I've tested both of these sims in my B315. Rain remained faster than 50Mbps even during peak with my data days.

Did you open a ticket?

yes, I need to contact through email and fill a form or some ****. cba, I downgraded to the R219 20GB and will just use it as a backup for 6 months and cancel afterwards. Works out cheaper than buying a new router still.

I have the same, off-peak it's usable but as soon as 18:00 hits, nothing 0.5Mbps. Useless as I have rain during the off-peak and need something for the peak hours.

I just kept my DSL line just in case of disappointment.
