Cell C launches 3GB/year data offering

In other words, you pay R399 for a SIM card that has 3GB of data in it. It is tempting, considering their other offer of the 3-in-1 voucher (English is running away, what I mean using them together).

nice for an IPAD2 or other Tablet that runs on 900 MHz.

Do u guys really like these deals? 3gb wont even last me a day! never mind a year...

Great innovation from Cell C! Perfect for low usage scenarios without the pressure of using it in the traditional 60 days.

Solid move.

ADSL users will point & laugh (/giggle), but for everyone else its cool.

Cell c rep. Can this be added on to a normal contract?

Great product. Most people use their phones for a bit of facebook, browsing and a some gmail. Possibly some mxit too. This should be plenty for those folks. I consider myself a heavy phone user and I use about 100MB a month (thanks to Opera mini it's a lot less than it could be). Anyway, 3GB a year is plenty.

It this available as a bolt-on to an existing package?

While I am all for product innovation, this really isnt innovative (its more like common sense)

The first SA carrier to offer Bolt on data specials to people who alreaddy have a) smartphones or b) speedsticks

having 1 sim as my main simcard and another sim just for data doesnt fly with me.

just let us buy data on any simcard/number we want pls :D

SA isnt alone here. this is a worldwide problem

So do we get allocated 256mb per month or can we use it as we please throught the year?

If we can use it as we please then there is no reason at all to buy the normal 3GB package for R400 which is only valid for 30 days.

Why Am I paying R390 for 2GB on vodacom, which only lasts one month?

This is a STUNNING product for the Tablet and Smartphone market. Well done Cell C!

To the people that say "only 3GB? You gota be kidding me!?", remember that this is not supposed to replace your internet (ADSL, Fibre, etc) but rather to supplement it for mobile use.

But sadly here in SA we use mobile internet as our primary internet. FAIL.

Good for users who use googletalk, skype, twitter or any other IM application to stay in touch (voice excluded).

Or just a telemetry application with low bandwidth requirements.
