Cell C Limiting Speed?

I have this weird situation in radiokop on LTE and huawei b315 ...

I can upload at a hectic pace, but downloads are at 2mbs ..

On the Giga 20 package the nightsurfer data never works so I constantly throw away up to 15 gigs a month. The normal all day 5 gig allocated data obviously works at all times but does not last. Strange that the data only stays connected for a few minutes at a time during the nighttime but once the nightsurfer time is over from 6am there is a non stop connection.

You must watch and report to cell c. I personally have now started to take daily screenshots of sppeedtests to build up a record. They can be very difficult at times.

Agreed. The past week my giga 200 card has been throttled completely (no throughput) , on contract throughput without any hiccups which represens contract customers have preference first. Rebooted the giga 200 several times, after complaining on here then things worked in the evening. Stable for now

I have a similar problem, my new Giga100 on a B593-S601 shows 4G but Speedtest shows around 3.7Mbps download and 7.8Mbps upload. I've PM'd the CellC rep on here, hopefully they can sort it out.

Speeds are so good and stable now that I downloaded 5.92gb in less then 1.5 hours. Thanks @Cell_C

Hi,

Don't know if it was mentioned above and I'll admit I haven't read the entire thread, but ...

Each Giga200 SIM I have bought over the past couple of months has been the older generation SIM which does not support LTE and cannot be provisioned for LTE. You have to buy the Giga200 and do an immediate SIM swap to get your 200 Gigs at LTE speeds ...

I have been a Cell C customer for many years and have had reasonable service - probably on par with the poor service everybody experiences with cell phone service in this country.
I have been on a Giga 200 prepaid package for the last year and I bought a new 100GB card during the recent promotion.
In the last week or two my download speeds have dropped dramatically. Sometimes Ookla cannot even complete the test. I have contacted Cell C service and have had phone calls from them. Eventually a technician turned up and saw for himself that the download speed was about 1/4 of 1MB. He forced the modem onto 3G and the speed briefly improved. I have today been forced to change it back and let it pick up 2G or 3G because when it could not connect on 3g the modem simply stopped.
The technician gave me all the excuses - too many users on the tower - during the day when everyone is at work? or at night when everyone is sleeping? BS
He suggested that I change to LTE and I think that is the crux of the matter - Cell C wants everyone to move to LTE and use more data so they can make more money.
I would like the service I am paying for Cell C!
