Cell C MyCellC Accounts Broken?

Surely this is a good story for MyBB to publish an article on?
 
Sooo... more than a month offline, and still no estimated time to repair or article from MyBB.

Cell C is looking less and less appealing.

Maybe RPM could get a comment from the big cheese so that we have an idea about what's going on.

Edit: The much lauded Cell C rep is notably absent.

Due to abuse - maybe there is still a loophole and they still trying to patch it up.

Will it ever come to life again my account ?

Did CELL C management forget to sign on the dotted line to give the go ahead?

Cell C is a great network, but if they do not sort out their issues (bad customer service, support), people will rather stay and pay more at other networks.

I took a gamble and pasted "Welcome to Cell C. Cell C" in to the password field at https://ecare.cellc.co.za/ecare/mycellc/mobile/ and it worked
 
I broke my R 1200 GSM module yesterday, trying to refit my SIM card after I had to remove it in order to recharge. **** you Cell C. You really know how to piss off your customers.

At first I thought, "You have got to be ****ting me." Then I tried it. Un-****ing-believable. It worked. Still can't add airtime, but at least I can check my balance. Thanks, garriths.

Great find!

This seems to work for any SIM that has never been registered on the site. My SIMs that were registered previously work with their normal password, and not with "Welcome to Cell C. Cell C".

Edit: The Change Password feature works, so once you have logged in with a new SIM and the "Welcome to Cell C. Cell C" password, you can change it to whatever you like.

So their site was actually working! When one requested their password it was sent, but nobody until garriths thought to enter it. :D

Top tip when using password generators: Cell C will truncate your password to 15 characters (and not tell you) if you go over the 15 character limit (they ask for 8-15).
