Cell C Network Issues: Disconnects, Coverage, Throughput Problems - Report Here

I have full signal but cannot browse the web or get onto the net at all. Why? Is it possible that the sim got damaged whilst cutting it into a nanosim for my ipad? It did work previously but not any longer

I'm in the Eastern Cape, East London. have full signal but no connectivity to the net whatsoever. i have a 9810 now most would say its the phones hardware but it isnt. i ported to cell c from vodacom coz of network problems only to walk into more.

i just had to restart my phone / network 2 min ago and got about 23 emails, 4 bbms and a couple whatsapp msgz. #frustrating

if anyone can suggest something to try to eliminate this than please do.

thank you

So it seems that Cell C's network problems have reappeared on my end. Throughput and signal have gone down the crapper over the past few weeks.

Thanks for the update. Unfortunately, Mos Eisley is outside of Cell-C's coverage area.

Hey there, pretty massive connectivity and signal strength issues in westering area of Port Elizabeth. This causes my S3 and my girlfriends HTC 1 to revert to emergency call mode continuously, and it doesn't rectify itself, we need to reboot or airplane mode on /off.

Please assist!

I constantly have connectivity issues with Cell C all across Johannesburg. Always. Every day.

I'll be cancelling my CellC data products. I've tried support and no joy, they just don't seem to care. So I'm taking my business elsewhere and buying more Afrihost mobile.

In addition, I'm checking out Vodacom for voice service as I'm on month-to-month with CellC. When will providers realise that retaining existing customers is just as important as getting new ones? Rands are Rands.

I'm on a year contract with the Cell C data bundle. Not likely to renew with them.

Meanwhile, under the command of Darth Joosub, Vodacom have deployed a base station at Mos Eisley spaceport to serve as a receiving station for Imperial Probe Droids. Rumour has it, it was commissioned by Grand Moff Van Zyl himself.

5 calls to Cell-C, a private message to Cell_C on MyBroadband (NO ANSWER), another two online support requests and a HelloPeter.com report later: Response from Cell-C after providing the detailed fault description above: "Please re-check your SMTP settings" !!!!

I have since cancelled my account with Cell-C.

Good buy and good riddance, you bunch of clowns.

Any other information relevant to the problem: Connection time outs, low speed, high latency. Ping goes from ~280, then freezes and jumps up to ~1100+. My router reports full signal, HSPA+, RSCP -79dBm, RSSI -71dBm

Location: Nelspruit, anywhere.
Date & Time of Issue: Since 2013 up to this date.
Device Manufacturer & Model (e.g. Huawei E1820, ZTE MF190, Not: Black Modem, White Modem): LG Optimis Black Smartphone

www.speedtest.net results (if possible): None
Cell ID (if possible): None
RSSI (if possible, see How to check signal strength (RSSI))
Any other information relevant to the problem: Connection just dies randomly with zero throughput and I have absolute perfect signal. I see 3G on my phone, I see my phone attempting communication, but nothing happens online. I have to either reboot my phone completely, or put it in flight mode and on normal mode again to get it working again. Neither methods worked tonight, hence I'm posting this out of frustration. It's becoming a bore. It's every single day, not one day is different. I have this issue each day of my life. Pathetic.

Location: Cape Town, CBD (Office on Riebeek Street)
Time of issue: about a week now?
Device: Samsung Galaxy S2
Contract Type (pre- or post-paid): Post Paid - Straight Up 400
Existing reference numbers from Helpdesk: n/a
www.speedtest.net results (if possible): n/a
Any other information relevant to the problem: I have never really had issues with Cell C, neither in the CBD or in Sea Point where I live. Now I cant even download an app from the Play Store. The throughput is totally PORKED! Most of the day I cannot even open a web page, so that tells me its REALLY bad.

what on earth is going on here? :(

I can't wait for my Cell C contract to expire. It's been the most frustrating time. Cell C data is so unreliable as to be useless
