Cell C Network Issues: Disconnects, Coverage, Throughput Problems - Report Here

I've been having the same problem - in cape town. Have you managed to resolve?
Hi there
I have been a cell c customer for about 3 years now and I am struggling to get a decent and stable connection
My connection keeps dropping or the speed is very low I can't even use my phone to go online.
My location: Cape Town Muizenberg

CELL C PLEASE FIX THIS

Same problem here, bought the Giga 200 and also 2GB x 12 from Cell C. Can't get good speeds.

Works only the first few minutes or even seconds! :(

This is from Cape Town CBD where I need to use it.

Can replicate this over and over and over and over... Same thing happening. Unplugging the device, moving it around. Nope, nada, nothing works with Cell C. Insert another sim, hey presto!.. Cell C I want my money back.

It has been getting progressively worse on the east rand over the last 4 years. Now, it is just absurd. Speed is fine, but getting a 3g connection is beyond annoying. I'm done with CellC.

Edit: One fix I tried last year was to use your phone settings to prevent your sim using the GSM900 band. This improved latency at the time, but it has also deteriorated since.

Yes, it is poor. I thought it was just my iPad (CT southern suburbs, tower 200m away)

I've got a really strange problem which started about 2 weeks ago.
After a few hours I can't browse any international websites, the pages refuse to load. But some local sites work perfectly.

The only way to fix the problem is to unplug my 3G dongle and plug it back in a few times. But after a few hours all international connectivity will die. Got the same problem on my iPad.

It's so frustrating, especially with full 3G signal.

Also getting bad connection problems with Cell C, I’ve experienced it all over Cape Town, live in Mowbray and work in Paarden Eiland. It has been getting progressively worse lately. Cell C, could we get some feedback on this please??

Their network is over subscribed. I gave Cell C a good chance, but they got greedy and cocked it up. Im moving ASAP

I renewed my contract last year once news of these network upgrades came about. Fool me once CellC. NEVER again.

I'm experiencing 'selective' networking issues where I work. Whatsapp works, but then only messages, no whatsapp images or videos. Browsing the net is also not working as well as all other apps I've tried. SMS and phoning is working fine.

Could this be something other than CellC?

It is now 3 months later and the problem still persist after a Cell C technician came to our offices to test and confirm the problem but it has not been resolved yet. I have now cancelled my data bundle and bought a mifi device on another operator's network just to get simple things like Whatsapp messages and emails on my phone.

The problem is also killing my phone's battery as it will run the battery down trying to download an email.

The problem is still the same. Full 3g signal but no or very slow data throughput.

Hi

I have very poor coverage in the Umhlanga Ridge as well as Woodview. Signal in Umhlanga sits at 1 bar to 0, I cannot receive calls or connect to the internet. Calls i do receive or make, get dropped.
If it wasn't for Wifi, my phone would be useless.

Yeah, I gave up on my Cell C 2GB per month data contract a while ago. When it works, it's great, but most of the time, it doesn't work reliably. I'm looking at competitors now. They may be more expensive, but you get what you pay for in this market at this time I think.

I just tried now with almost full 3G signal (iPhone4s), can't even load the test page in Milnerton. I can't even use something as simple as tapatalk in Century City. I'm lucky to get Whatapp messages and phone calls usually suck. The one time I tried navigating with Google maps was a joke.

Contract ends in December and I'll port to some other provider. In the mean time I have to endure their sappy consumer champion ads every time I visit the movies...

Hi I hope I am in the right place for my problem because it relates to my cell phone (which I use for data as well),
Location:
Ladismith Western Cape (Brandrivier 1 cell Tower)
Date & Time of Issue: No Network coverage since Thursday 29th of May (DATA and Voice)
Device Manufacturer & Model: Nokia cell phone
Contract Type (pre- or post-paid): Prepaid
Helpdesk: No Cell or Landline to contact them
Speedtest: N/a
Never had any trouble until now, I heard Vodacom had been working on this tower and cell c piggy backs off them.

Good day

I had a faulty device (out of the box) sent to your repair centre.

How can I get hold of your repair centre?
