Cellc and Dota 2 Not working
I'm not sure if anyone has posted this before, but here I go. I seem to be having a problem connecting to dota 2 game servers with cellc 3G internet.
I can connect perfectly fine to steam, it works ingame too, its just that it won't allow me to connect to any dota 2 servers. I've tried other internet providers and it works flawlessly.
I've tried setting clientport to 80 but it doesn't make any difference, it just refuses to connect to the game server.
Has anyone else experienced this problem, or does anyone else use cellc 3G to play dota 2 online?
Any possible solutions or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I have this exact problem.
Cell_C is going to give me unrestricted APN access, hopefully that will sort the problem out.

Also having this problem for the past few months. Steam also doesn't always want to connect first shot.

Can't connect at this moment, and there's a quite a few others also having problems with Telkom etc.

I just inserted my old Giga200 with some leftover cap, that one has unrestricted APN and it works now.
So send me the form again, want to do the same with the new one.

Yeah thats exactly it, steam always fails on the first try.
I've sent the Cell_c representative a private message, hopefully they can shed some light.

Think it's time to fill in that form. CellC hates Steam and DOTA2.
Especially after midnight, there's almost no chance of it working. It only works during the day between certain hours.

Hi, I am also sitting with this problem, Takes me forever to connect to Steam but struggle to connect to CS:GO Servers. Sometimes it works but most of the times it does not. Internet and everything else is working fine. Please help. Tnx

Cell C Just not working with steam
As quoted above Ranger has problems just like I do. If I connect my wifi modem everything works except steam which keeps saying ''Could not connect to the steam network'' Now I moved from an other network to cellc because you can buy bigger data for cheaper, however my ping with the games with the previous network was like 60-84 , and now with cellc its like 120-170. I mean like really? This isnt cutting it for me. However if someone within cellc can work together with me, I would like this problem sorted out. Any added DNS or APN,s might actually fix this.

I would like a form as well please, as I would also like to effortlessly connect to steam, so If I may request an form as well please? I am also planning on playing the games above soon.

I applied for unrestricted APN, but I never really got a confirmation that is was actually activated.
It's still a hit and miss for me, the default UMTS connection that is created doesn't always work.

Will do so, I however just called cellC support, and they emailed me the unrestricted APN access form. I will fill it in, however I will still pm my details to you, should you be able to help with the situation, (the ping or login problems) or look of any other solution to my problem, it would be MUCH appreciated.

Unrestricted APN usually resolves the issue. Keep us posted once the sim has been provisioned.
