Still cheaper than everyone else (Well, except FNB, where Whatsapp is actually free / zero rated).
Edit: Hey, First!
Who even uses that much Whatsapp data?

This includes a lot of documents, calls, etc. as it's easier than e-mailing the stuff.
I average about 800MB a month. This includes a lot of documents, calls, etc. as it's easier than e-mailing the stuff. WhatsApp calls are about a meg every two minutes.
I occasionally also send music over WhatsApp as I have a couple of friends where we share music with one another.

I did have an instance where a lady wanted me to send her porn videos on whatsapp. I asked her why don't I just come over and forget about watching clips. Yeah, I was real smooth.
She declined![]()

Not business purposes, it's for uni stuff. Business purposes I'd demand at least Google Drive > link so I can organize it to a folder on my drive. Upgraded to R290 for 100GB storage a year and currently at 60GB.Fair. But I'll be damned if I ever have to use Whatsapp, Telepath, etc. for business purposes.
If both are on WiFi or LTE, the call quality is comparable to a normal call while being "free". I don't see the point of not using VoIP unless I know the other person doesn't have data or it's a Telkom number. Used to also use Skype on my phone, but the update made the interface horrendous, it also has a tendency to randomly unlock my phone if I got a message and not let the lock screen kick in after 2 minutes, screen permanently on while in my pocket and the battery dies.Fair point. I reject WhatsApp calls, and ignore voice notes. Call I'll take from someone in another country, on a good connection. Otherwise, TSEK
Telkom's FreeMe packages also come with social data.
CellC 500MB bundle: https://www.cellc.co.za/cellc/get-databundles R99, add the WhatsApp bundle for R12.50, it's R111.50
Telkom 500MB bundle: https://secure.telkom.co.za/today/shop/personal/plan/freeme-500mb-boost/ R69, 500MB IM and VoiP included, 100 SMS, 300 minutes to Telkom numbers (inc. landline).
I don't find CellC's offerings compelling. They're network isn't that great and yet their prices keep increasing.
Don't be ridiculous - that Telkom price is on a 24 month contract.
That kack hardly works. Rather send first, get them all percolatory first.
