Cell C's "4G"s network is NOT TRUE AT ALL because it doesn't meet and has never met any of the requirements that describe the term 4G. Hence they simply cannot use it.
don't they meet one of the 3 requirements the one about being all IP based?

Twas not directed at you, but merely asking not to respond to rouxenator who has been trolling all the Cell C threads.
1 out of 3, doesn't work. 33% = Failing grade.
Vodacom in turn said that they are supporting this ruling by the ASA which is to the benefit of South African consumers.
You haven't checked out the latest matric requirements ? 30% does it in some cases.
This made me laugh. I almost spilled my coffee.

Great - I need financing to use Cell-C data.put it on your credit card and pay the card off per month
Dude, its Mokla with an L not an i. And they are not bad either. Unlike Cell-C you know your getting a phony phone.Nobody asks a Chinese manufacturer to live up to Finnish standards when they make a "Mokia"

hmmm whats sprint DEF of 4G?
http://shop.sprint.com/en/solutions/mobile_broadband/mobile_broadband_4G.shtml
Turbo charge your productivity with an even faster Mobile Broadband connection. Download mammoth files and video conference without the lag. The Sprint 4G Network (available in select cities) delivers lightning-fast email and Internet access.
To get access to the blazing-fast 4G network, you'll need a dual-mode 3G/4G device, or single-mode 3G/4G device, along with a Mobile Broadband Connection plan or 4G Day Pass.
How much faster is 4G?
4G speeds are up to 10 times faster than 3G. That's like swapping out DSL for a high-speed cable modem. Or your Model T for a Maserati.
| AVERAGE DOWNLOAD SPEEDS | PEAK DOWNLOAD SPEEDS | MONTHLY DOWNLOAD LIMIT
4G | 3-6Mbps | more than 10Mbps | All you can stream, browse, email, chat, watch and game while on our network.
3G | 600 Kbps - 1.4 Mbps | Up to 3.1 Mbps | 5GB while on network and 300 MB while off network.
people going on about farking peanuts.
who cares. ITS FASTER AND CHEAPER THAT ALL THAT MATTER
Great - I need financing to use Cell-C data.
Epic fail.
People are completely missing the point... it's 4Gs and NOT 4G
Nobody asks a Chinese manufacturer to live up to Finnish standards when they make a "Mokia"
Did anyone ever sue those guys called "Panasonite" and asked them to deliver 1080p @ 200Hz with LED back-lighting?
Stupid Cell C, they want to keep using this scheme because it is working. People hear about the real 4G network in America, add the new '4G iPHONE' in the mix and the keyword "4G" is suddenly worth the big bux. The majority of users will flock over if they hear anything related to 4G in SA because they are hugely misinformed when it comes to anything technology(no TV coverage of tech things at ALL!WHY!?)
For them to continue to battle this is pathetic and only shows that they want to scheme and cheat customers. How can one defend such actions in public? Does the public deserve to be lied to like this?
