Cell C's 4Gs no more?

Cell C have stated their intention to remove the 4Gs branding from all their advertising according to a recent ruling from the ASA
 
Yeah... now that MTN and Vodacom have competition they having a fit... Seems like bullying to me... Makes me sick to say im with MTN... this won't be a good fight. MTN and Vodacom will lose this one in the public eye.
 
Call it what you will - it's still miles better than anything VC or MTN has to offer us consumers.
 
Consumers don't care what you call the product. If the service is good and the price is right, there will be a HUGE demand for it.

I do not care what they call the service as long as they live up to the reputation 4GS - 4 great speeds, 4 good support, 4 going strong, 4 getting speeds, etc... Seriously now the big boys have nothing interesting to do but employ someone to take lovely photos etc.....

I was speaking with someone last night from CELL C discussion everything from the network etc, great discussion looks very promising.
 
Telskommel has an 8 in their logo , twice as the size of cellc :D .... Remove it Telkom, it's misleading..

I havent been getting some of those 4GS yet - NO GOOD SUPPORT :p
 
If Cell C only got an extension to remove their outdoor branding, why is my local Cell C shop still carrying extensive 4Gs INDOOR branding?

Every counter is filled with 4Gs-branded adverts and lots of posters everywhere on display.
 
As much as I hate the fact they tried to call it 4G, it still rubs me the wrong way how MTN is bullying CellC, I think they have done a great job at re-branding, and it might be taking them a while to get the HSPA activated around SA but I have only heard good things from people that have used it. People love to see companies fail but are never willing to commend a company where it is due.

People are waiting for the first sign of anything to go wrong with CellC so they can jump on it. CellC, you have done a great job thus far, im my eyes you are welcome to another 2 weeks to get your branding in order.
 
No worries - MTN & VC has just created a lot of free publicity for Cell-C with their nanny-nagging.
 
Fair enough, it was a little misleading

Can't wait for them to launch in gauteng! CellC FTW

Cell's C marketing compaigns have been really stupid. I saw a billboard with something about Tweeting and super speed. You don't need a 4G connection to tweet!!!!! Even an analog modem at 56kbps would be overkill for twitter because of the small amout of bandwidth it consumes.

Don't even get me started on the the copyright symbol they decided to use as their logo. How stupid can you get?
 
The issue here is simply be truthful in what you are delivering, push the limits and you open yourself to be shown up as dishonest.
