How nice of you to inform us poor uneducated souls of everything we did not already know.

Has it occurred to you that some of us have no choice?
Has it occurred to you that I cannot get ADSL seeing as I cannot have a Telkom line installed, seeing as I rent the place?
Has it occurred to you that the landlord will not approve any fixed lines installed to this premise?
Has it occurred to you that I am not eligible for WiMax due to the dip in signal where I am?
Has it occurred to you that iBurst cannot get a stable signal to my place for longer than 4 seconds at a time, even with antenna?
Has it occurred to you that Neotel coverage in the entire Nelspruit does not exist?
Has it occurred to you that Telkom Mobile signal in Nelspruit also does not exist?
Has it occurred to you that my only other option is a local product labeled "Aeronet"?
Has it occurred to you that their connections are expensive, contended through the roof, unstable, unreliable, and slower than dialup?

No, I guess these things did not occur to you.
But seeing as you're THE man with all the answers... go ahead bright light, shine into my world for 10 minutes...

That being said, you can take your fight and place it where it belongs; Right next to the goliaths because there are no Davids here.

dude this is a retarded response,

Seeing that you are renting, why not move into another rental property where you can have access to ADSL or a wireless signal?

Don't call me a doll, please.

Why's your heading not mentioning emptyN?

@Moggie that is the dumbest reason to move & rent a new place. :p

hehehe.... depends on how badly you want to be "connected" !!

EDIT: the poster said he/she has NO CHOICE. There is a choice....

guys and dolls the big problem here is that too many people give their money to vodacon and then complain.

MTN has lost so many data subscribers - its not funny anymore.they are really under tremendous pressure in the data space.

Thats why they had to do a proper tariff review.

If you use more than 1 gig data a month you should be on adsl.
If you use less than 1gig data per month you should consider iburst, neotel or telkom mobile prepaid.

We can force the goliaths down together.

The reason MTN have lost so many subscribers is because they SUCK.
Generally poor service, poor coverage, bad pricing....Fixing one of the 3 is not going to turn it around, they should get their arses in gear or close down. Simple.

I'm sure they appreciate your plea on their part tho...

Unfortunately it is impossible to boycott VC or any other company that has customers locked into contracts.
Maybe that is about to change with the implementation of new Consumer Protection legislation (??)
Also the choices for new customers are much greater than what I had when I took up a 24 month contract, a year ago.
I have become wiser and more knowledgeable now and will certainly not get locked into a 24 month data contract again.
So in 12 months when I am free of my contract, ADSL is the route I will take using only mobile data bundles on my for mobile applications.

Unfortunately VC has again p***ed off clients with their latest offerings, effective 1 May.
We don't even have reliable 3.6mbs d/l speeds, terrible latency and Wow, now the promise of increased speeds again and a "generous" data freebie.
Vodacom just fix your existing system, and deploy more towers to resolve the terrible cell-breathing problems that we experience on a daily basis.
Reward our loyalty with ground breaking offers that will shake the mobile broadband industry.
That's what we would expect from a major player like Vodafone.

If you travel a lot and need mobility then you really are stuck with Vodacom or MTN. They have the country wide coverage...

Soon to be joined by Telkom Mobile who have concluded a roaming agreement with MTN...

Well whoopdifriggindoo!
That's all we get?

Shove it back where it belongs, honestly.
If this was VC's pathetic attempt at giving us better bundles, seriously, put it back on the drawing board and try again.

TBH, with the rest of the internet market where it is now, anything short of doubling the bundles is a miss-fire.

pricing and initiative is pathetic WTF thought of this ?

change heart (they dont have heart smileys...lol)

I think simply saying just Boycott them is not even a solution. I'm a mobile person so I need mobile internet, this might change someday but not now.
You'r saying if someone uses less than 1GB to consider another network, but you forget that this will require buying that networks modem or signing up a new contract as the modems are network locked. This will result in people spending more money then needed. I have been able to unlock a modem but most wont be able to.

This is just idiocy!

Just let me getting something straight.

Vodacom is giving increased cap to only 2GB and lower data-bundle subscribers.
But have decided to simply ignore the subscribers who pay their right arms for the service (3GB and up).
ie: me and quite a few others.

Which bright spark decided this would be a good idea?
PS: Are these increases permanent or only temporary.
