Cheaper 3G Prices - Rep?

Lights? what lights?
Those lights have popped over a year ago and Vodacom have refused to replace them for us.

I say we burn this place down, and make smoke signals - perhaps Vodacom will be able to see that from their offices, since they don't use the internet to see all these complaints.
Either that, or they just don't care and see mybb 3G users as no threat.

Remember Vodacom, WE are the ones our family and friends ask for advice when getting connected/switching ISPs - Remember that!
WE, IT Tech are the ones the boss refers to when signing Big deals with hundreds of users for their company.

Could not agree more....all my family & friends phone me when they want to purchase new phones, computers, etc. & always take my recommendation.

Geez its finally Night Owl Time , now i can use my 2.3GB i'm getting for (free) wish i was on Cell C than i don't have to wait until the middle of the night to log onto the net. Eish

Only way I could get a Vodafone B970 router for free....took a TopUp 400 ....the cash price for the B970 was R2700! Eish!

I did the same thing with a TopUp 315 and now stuck with Vodacom till end May 2011. Sob, sob, sob!!!

I haven't followed this thread - but *surely* they have a comeback - or at least working on one - to Cell C ... ?!
Surely they're a little worried? No?

I don't get it :(

Everything I've learnt and read in school/college about competing in the markets is what Vodacom choose *not* to do :/

It is actually quite simple. Vodacom's markup is so high it is still a better option to lose a significant number of customers rather than reducing the markup to keep a percentage of those customers. In addition, a lot of people are locked into 24-month contracts.

Very short sighted of them :/

I threw my Vodacom data sim in the fire tonight while sipping a fine single malt.

It was a truly liberating feeling.
Now I am whooshing around the interwebz at breakneck speeds at a fraction of the cost.

When my phone contract is complete I will repeat the exercise.

Lol! :D

Goodbye Vodacom

Today I have made the move from vodacom to Cell-C.

What a pleasure to surf the net.

I have been waiting for vodacom to sort out the problems in our area for two and a half years and up-to-date nothing happen.

We have been promised by vodacom to fix the problem of overload towers and bad signal, and it was just an empty promise.

You're a good man! Wish I was able to make the switch too. This mobile broadband from Cell C is looking awesome.

*Cliche* Wait till Cell C gets congested.

If that happens that is.
They utilise 900 and 2100 MHz bands, only network to do so.
One 900 transmitter site can cover up to 5 times the area of a std 2.1GHz site. Less infrastructure needed to get full coverage and upgrade should the towers get saturated, also better reception indoors. Voda and MTN 900Mhz spectrum is saturated with voice and cant be refarmed.

The big boys have been caught napping in the mountains of profit they have made out of us.

I made the move too today! :D

5GB for 300 bucks! Cheap compared to 300 bucks for 1 miserable gig from VC. Ok, R289 is still R300! :D
