Checkers vs Uber Eats - Lockdown food price comparison

Checkers has a card that actually gives discounts not some point system that's now gone down a ton and expires.
I tried to sign up for Checkers60/60 and (unless I registered incorrectly) it indicated I had to go into a store and get a physical card before I could start online shopping. Not sure if that's true as I signed up to avoid the store

Just go to an empty teller and take a card. You can activate it online.

I was talking about the xtra card

tldr; but ubereats doesn't set the pricing of items on the app, the supplier/shop does. So if you see an inflated price, that's not because uber added ontop of that. It's the shop itself.

whats nice about other countries, that won't work in SA because of crime, is self-checkout. man I love self-checkout.

Checkers 6060 is fine IF one lives in an area serviced by them.
We live in Tableview/Blouberg, Cape, and are thus outside the area.
Waiting!!!!!

I've ordered from Checkers Sixty60 quite a bit during the lockdown and prior.

It's quite annoying they pre-authorize amounts, only to find out much later it's out of stock. I've placed 2x R500 orders, one of them was cancelled and the other I only received R200 worth of my order. So I'm busy waiting for an R800 refund which has taken over a week.

Another issue is that refrigerated goods keep arriving off (steaks, pizzas, frozen crumbed chicken, etc). I suspect they are packaging the orders in advanced and it takes time for the courier to arrive, giving enough time for things to spoil.
