Oh yeah... The Big Telco is MTN.... and contrary to popular belief if you **** clients around... you get your ass handed to you in a big way (except in telkom). Why do you think there is such a massive hate for Telkom? It wasn't there a couple years back. THEY screw their clients.... I comes back to haunt them.....

Oh yeah... BITE ME

Crash, having worked and being a call centre manager myself for several months, I understand the type of frustrations call centre people experience, yet, what I have learnt THAT THE TRUTH is more powerful than lies, especially if said lies would go on for several hours/days.

If you tell a client "we have isolated the problem and technicians are busy attending to it" then two days later, when said client calls back repeatedly, said client will be majorly pissed off.

If you tell the client that your technicians are busy attending to the problem, but they have no idea what could be wrong yet, that would derail the client being pissed off so much when he/she phones back repeatedly.

Period. Tell the truth, and, even though you might still get a few swear words from the client, the chances of that client calling back "because you said it would be fixed in an hour or that you have isolated the problem and is fixing it" and being pissed off at you would be THAT much less.

Then again, go ahead, lie, cheat, steal. Be greedy, expect the world for nothing, expect things to fall in your lap. South Africans are slowly pissing me off. This is a beautiful country, but the undermining attitude of South African companies to make a buck or two is getting to me.

My friend in scotland has a 1meg connection, they're upgrading her for FREE to a 2meg line, plus, for 3 months, she's paying 3 pounds LESS. Yes, they're paying her for a free upgrade they give HER.

THAT, my friend, is looking after your clients. Happy clients breed loyalty, loyalty means they'll stick with you through the tough times.

It costs you 300% more to gain a new client than to keep a current client

Right... I'll go smoke some pot and re-read the post.
So from now on I gonna lie alot. Cause regardless of what I actually say.. people don't care. They have this selfish little world they live in.... and they will die in that little selfish world.

I think the current level of service sucks and I would get fired if I gave this level of service to my clients!

Then again, go ahead, lie, cheat, steal.

But like

Crash, exactly my point. That is the perception help desk monkies give to the customers out there.

Give me a reason why not to think that way.... btw, I've always had brilliant (except for a few monkies) service from MTN and their call centre. Not even vodacom is on par like that.

Proud MTN user since 1998

Jeez... okay... i have just reread my posts.... I sound like a twit....
Sorry for nasty comments and all. Had a really bad day today....

More problems

My connection is now so bad I can not even test it with www.tcpiq.com software before it fails. Staying connected to this forum is a problem. I suppose I must believe.

Now that you've all kissed and made up... :D

Crash, always remember that you have a wide spectrum of users/customers, some who might know more than the average joe, who expect more detail from support and support and their management must be aware of this AND EQUIPPED for this . Don't treat them like idiots (The customers that is, not support and management :D).

The majority on this forum would be satisfied (or should that be pasified :D) with
1. acknowledgement and acceptance of the problem (Score BIG points here) i.s.o "Nobody else has reported this...

2. a more detail explanation when *asking* for it. No need to volunteer technical info if not required. No need to tell them the part no of the transistor that blew, "Sandton transmitter packed up" is sufficient. You'll quickly realise that feedback from specific users can and should be acted on. The Sentech saga refers

Don't you think if iBurst or Sentech applied these in their respective call centres, their *knowledgeable" customers would've been far more lenient and reserved in their judgements/responses ?

This is my helpdesk variation :
" The truth , but not the whole truth, and nothing but the truth" :o

DISCONNECTION PROBLEM

We hope to have discovered the problem causing the disconnections which are happening once in a while.

Once everything is in place on Wed. evening we are hoping to rectify the issue. If this does not succeed the Kyocera engineers have 2 alternatives.

The light.. I see it.... At the end of the tunnel...

Will report thurs morning on this issue.

Keep everything crossed guys & gals.

Keep the faith.

I think that there are a few hundred lines of log file out here that will contradict the "once in a while" theory.

This is good news that your vendors are coming to the party to get this issue resolved.

That at least shows commitment from there side.

Shaun, what 2 alternatives do they have?

Tonight the speeds are exceptionally slow on Northcliff, will the speed be fixed too?

To Bebob

Please give me a call in the morning.

I would like to get your location and identify what is happening to you.

We need the problems all out NOW. 1 and a half months to launch.

We all want this to be the best alternative in South Africa.

Please dont forget to call. I am very active with the call centre agents during the day, however, leave a message. I have yet to "NOT CALL SOMEONE BACK".

No problem too small, No solution too expensive.

Thank you again

Chill Guys

Lets try to keep it constructive.

I am not a perfect human being. I try, we all try.

*** though, did make the Irish.... Very close to perfection.

I am Irish.

I have a head start.

Lets keep cool and make this work together.

Thank you all

Crash, you see this is what I'm talking about
DISCONNECTION PROBLEM

Good start. acceptance, acknowledgement, etc. What are we're missing here ??? A little 2 liner about the problem. Remember this is mostly tech savvy ppl in these forums

Good middle. plan of action, etc. What are we're missing here ??? A little 2 liner about the alternatives. Would've saved noone a post :D

Will report thurs morning on this issue.
Good end. When to expect feedback, etc

Point being : Nothing technical to satisfy/pasify the "problem children"

Please Read Carefully

Disconnections.

Like i am experiencing at my own home, are happening every hour to three hours. This problem is not a signal killer. It is a disconnection problem.

I see that every comment i make and solution i provide is being deeply analysed by some.

Please i allready have a shrink taking care of my head. If you are going to thread through my words like a mincer, rather call me. I am a nice chap. Dont bite off heads etc.

If the engineers say they are going to be putting things in place for Weds night to attempt a repair, i trust them. The whole organisation trusts them. I will not second guess them, or question them. Luis is a great guy heading a great team, under great stress.

They would also like to achieve perfection. As would the whole organisation.

On thurs morning i will post something about the previous nights excersize.

No analysing now please.

Good night all
