Agreed

The Japanese engineers need our respect. Please no flaming.

The speed today is definetly not great. Luis is on the job of fixing this
problem as i type.

Small interesting fact. We are testing the ext. ant.

Great improvement. I think we might all want one.

THE SPEED OF DL INCREASED. Go figure..

This is not the final say in the speed issue.\

You guys wanted the truth..

Things are looking better. I would want my IBurst to fly like it did in december, just like the community. Almost there.

Faster days are on the way.

K... Shaun thats all good. But when I was at WBS in November last year I was told by the Pravin dude that the Antennaes will be available 15 December. Never happened. Try 15 Feb rather.

"ext. ant." ..... I would love one... but considering the Aerials in Oz (Granted they work on different frequency) cost about R1500, then add good old ZA greed, and we are looking at about R2750. For an Aerial.... The Vodacom 3G guys get theres for free.

If its a good price, you will sell loads..... you over inflate the price and you might sell 5. Just bear that in mind. Maybe explain this to marketing.

Thanks for the update

Have you guys by any chance figured out what is causing the random disconnections?

One silly thought .... your routers arent by any chance learning thousands of routes causing a spanning tree..... just asking as it happened on one of the networks I support and it caused all sorts of errors. (getting ready for flame from cisco die hards) lol :D

Thanks for that IC I was not aware that we are being moved from bs to another I was always told that I connect to the primrose tower

Heya Shaun,

I wouldnt really to what most of these numnuts say. When Iburst performs, its like mana from heaven. I have tasted from the forbidden fruit.

So like yah. Please get it working ASAP. :P So I can laugh at all the people on ADSL. Am also experiencing the disconnection problem, but speed is at a tolerable level (500kbs+...you can sort this after you fix the disconnections :D)

Ill stick it out with Iburst for a while longer.

Thank You

Every effort will be put into resolving the disconnection problem.

Hope & pray Luis is succ. tonite.

May you connections stay constant.

Shaun Green

If luis cant get it right tonight, i says he buys us all a drink on Friday :D

Oh, just for the record, I take Shauns word for things. I had a problem with the billing, and when he promised it would be sorted out, it was. First time someone there promised action and delivered.

A definate lack of commication within the WBS chain of command, if the antennas are infact here then why was the helpdesk not informed? It makes Shiela look bad for no reason. If there are no antennas then well its a whole new story.

[post=164790][/post]And now:[post=164910][/post]Shaun, please could you explain these two diametrically opposed quotes...?

I think Shaun's response probably reflects the present reality.

I've figured out that when you phone the WBS help desk you are speaking to the very last people in the information food chain. There is far more chance of us informing them of the network status than of them informing us.

This forum provides a far more accurate and up-to-date Iburst support base than anything WBS has yet to offer.

May I point out that if they actually manage to get the thing fixed, and launched properly.

You will have:
- a 3G cap
- 1Mbits/sec for HTTP,SMTP,POP3 and a few other protocols only.
- 64Kb/s for the rest.

Mana from heaven indeed...

I sent 2 emails without reply regarding my billing.

Which day of the month did you elect to be debited on?

I've been checking my bank statement daily but still nothing has been deducted.

Didn't someone post that if you elected 16th-31st you paid in advance for the following month, whereas if you elected 1st-15th you paid for the current month?

Hell folks, this is real deja vu - the same thing happened with Sucktech! Completely stuffed-up billing, despite spending a fortune on a fancy backoffice billing system! Just shows how accurate RODENT's posting was - will we never learn not to be lemmings?! For SHAUN - suggest you instruct your finance types to freeze all billing until after the official launch, and use the time to get their act together instead...

Agreed, they have no idea how badly people will turn on them when it comes to money.

Shaun Green

Got disconnected several times during the evening between 18:00 and 22:30, went to sleep, woke up around my normal time (5am) and saw it once again disconnected around 3:55am. 6 minutes ago, 6:03am it disconnected once more.

The speed seems to be back though, although I am still getting packet loss (around 6-8%) I'm now getting an average of 81ms to iburst.co.za, rather than the 860ms average I had last night.

Shaun, if you read this and nothing else, please sort out your billing issues. We would expect at least THAT to be in order, unlike Sentech. UNLESS you collaborated and Sentech gave you "tips" on how to run your billing system
